New Cab any advice welcome

Got a new cab from walmart looking to flower in the large half, and veg/clone and house mothers on the other side. It is my first grow so I'm going to be using soil but thinking of upgrading to an ebb and flow for my next grow. To veg i have six 24 watt daylight cfl's (need more?) to flower I was thinking a 400 watt hps (to hot?) anyways enough talk.

dimensions are; flower W 22" H 53" D 19"

it will work just make sure you can vent that hps and maybe two more cfls just for good meausre you no what i mean better to have more light than not enough and are u gonna use that top shelf for little seedling or do you clone???

i was thinking of using the top for the electronics timers etc. Do clones need their own separate space or are they okay in the veg chamber with the moms?

should work fine just make sure you dont have any light leaking threw your veg door seem and into your flowering room. you can buy some weatherstrippng from hardware store to avoid any problems

put a bunch of light in one half and close that sides door then get in the other half and close the door and see how much light gets through. you dont want ut veg light getting in when ur flowering side is dark. how much was that thing?

the cab cost 140 canadian I think, i was going to grab a different one for like half the price but i figure i could fit 1-3 more plants in this one so its definately worth the extra funds. Still though it is walmart quality so the first thing i did was reinforce the back of it to keep things a bit stronger, also the back panel of the thing is like 2/16'ths of an inch thick i so i might just go over the whole back with some plywood when i get more motivated.

I have a couple newbie questions here for ya, Do my clones need a separate space from my mothers and veg area? and also will i have any trouble growing sativa strains in the flower room or is it still to short? Never grown before not sure how tall these babies are gonna get.

I am planning to build a grow cabinet with near the same design. However, instead of putting the clones, vegging plants and mother in the same area, I plan to use a shelf and install a T5 on the top of the veg half for the clones and mothers, and leaving the rest of the space for the vegging plants and CFLs. Clones don't necessarily need a separate space but all the more room for vegging plants the better. After all, clones dont need too much space to grow!

As for what strain is best i'm not 100% sure myself but Sativas can be grown in smaller spaces if you flower them early on and prune regularly so i would give it a shot.
