New Box test run w/ bag seed

We have constructed a new micro grow box. It is a steel frame (welded) walls of 1/4" bathroom paneling. It consists of two side by side compartments 17"x20"x34" (34 tall) the compartments are separated by a removable mylar wall, the box is accessed through the top, which is mylar also,
We only have light in one box right now 3 100w equivalent CFLs and one hell of an exhaust (will support both sides.) We added a mylar reflector on top of the lights and put all 3 lights on top of the two plants to intensify the light. The temp is kind of high. It was around 81 yesterday but is was more like 90 today when I opened the box. I waited about an hour or so and the temp is still around 90 but I put my hand between the lights and the plants(about a inch between the two) and is seemed cool to me even with my hand touching the lights. We also added a small desk fan for movement.

The soil we are using is "clean" soil from our last grow that we steam pasteurized with the dried roots in it.
We are planing to fertilize these girls with bat guano (11-4-1) tea with superthrive while vegging and using beet molasses while flowering. Also, of course, we will add H2O2 to the soil drenches like we did last time throughout the whole life of these girls(fingers crossed.) Right now we are just giving them plain pH balanced( around 6. water.

Anyway they seem to be progressing very well under these conditions

So, we bought 2 150 watt equivalent cfls and switched them with the 100s and they fell on the plants. Only one surviver. I think they were indica dominate bagseeds too.

Anyway, we did get two 24" T12s for the flowering side. Are they going to give enough warm light? They give off 1275 lumens and 3000 color temp. And they will be supported with cfls.

Also, I thought I had seen a write up on how to make cfls remote ballast, but can't find it anywhere. If anyone has seen it please point me in the right direction.
Our temps are pretty good but we have our box right in front of a window unit in our house and only two 150 watt (or 42w actual.) I think a remote ballast for our cfls would allow for more room and a lot more lights with a fraction of the heat. We will need to add more lights as we plan to have more plants in the box. (germinating more sticky icky bagseed at the moment.)

She is recovering quite nicely. Took these last night. We haven't given it any nutes yet just watering with plain ph balanced water.

We transplanted into a bigger pot tonight. It was definitely time from looking at the roots.
I wish we had smellovision because this plant is starting to get stinky.
She has a nice green color too. I think we will give her a couple days to recoup from the transplant and switch her over to 12/12.

We gave her some more weak bat guano tea with H2O2 and superthrive.
We tested the run off water also, and it tested in a good acidic range.
We are really liking this set up.

I forgot to mention the new configuration. WE have the 2 150e and one 100e cfls and we put in a 24" bulb too. We also have a yeast and sugar mixture directed right to the plant providing extra co2 to the plant.
This is the maiden voyage for this set up so any advise would be appreciated.

Well, we decided to top the plant and root a clone to determine gender. Instead of going through the whole 12/12 determine gender then back to veg wait take clones and then root and flower the clone . And if it is a boy we just throw everything away and start growing some really good genetics that are coming in the mail.
Enough chatter! Here is how the process went down.First we set up a little wick system. We are rooting the clone in the same soil the clone will grow in it's entire life same as the mum. We have cotton string in the bottom of the starter pot hanging down which is soaking up water (used weak bat guano, H2O2 , and superthrive tea which is pH balanced for our plant) from the green glass reservoir. Then we put that setup in with mum for a while to bring the temp up of the soil. We took the clone from the top main stem which is a little misshapen (where bulb burned it) but I think it should be fine since it has been growing out just fine. Actually the whole plant is pretty misshapen if you look close at it. We cut the mum right above the 3rd node and cut a couple slits in the stem that is under dirt and dipped it in Schultz Take Root rooting hormone (we used with great success with our tomatoes earlier this year.) Then we stuck her in the soil and covered with a clear plastic cup. Then put her in the other side of the box with a 20w 24" t 12.

All the pics of the big plant look overwatered! They don't like to droop like that. Maybe wait a couple extra days before watering? Pick it up once a day. When it feels too light, give it one more day. You would see it wilting (leaf edges curling under a bit too) if it were getting too dry. Remember OVERWATERING is like the most often made mistake!
