Hello All..

After about 3-4 years off I am now about 2 days into construction of my new grow area. I purchased 2 clones from a friend of a friend, Bubblegum rooted in 4" Rockwool Cubes. I transplanted them upon arrival in small pots to start with and they are now growing in just a walk-in closet under a 4 bulb 4' Tek Light T5 System. It is now about 2 1/2 weeks since I got the small babies and have since taken 3 cuttings currently in 1.5" rockwool cubes in a mock humidity dome made with a clear tupperware and a large plastic plate. The cuttings are also under the Tek Light System on 24x7. The 2 moms are doing rather well and starting to thrive under the Tek Lights and the cuttings seem to be doing well although slow moving with 2 of 3 at 10 days in the dome with no roots. I am still hopefull they will come thru as I will need 5-6 moms to harvest the 1st 20 succesfull cuttings to begin the 1st of 2 rooms scheduled to start 30 days apart. So for now the 2 older moms will be veggin and the 3 cuttings will be in the dome awaiting roots (hopefully to come soon). I will post pics of the 2 small moms and 3 cuttings along with a picture of the temp closet grow while I complete the real grow room over the next few weeks. Now back to the setup and construction.

I am currently constructing an attic grow. The main room will be 12x4 & 12x6.5. The main room will be broken up into a few areas. 2- 4x6 flowering rooms, 1- 2.5'x6' veg room and 1-2.5'x4' dry room. The rest will be 2 small 6x4 work areas. I am just finishing all of the framing for the main and individual rooms. Tomorrow I will nail up the last few boards and go pick up supplies for the floor. Due to electrical conduit everywhere in the attic I have decided to use 2x8's to raise the floor over to give me a nice and smooth surface. My current garage is finished with the ceiling being insulated but I will be adding insulation perpendicular to the existing insualtion. I will be using 7.5" thick rolled insualtion in between the raised floor to help cut or remove the sound from the multiple pumps, fans, a/c etc.. I will be using the same 7.5" thick insulation in the ceiling joists(that bump up to the roof) and 3" on the walls. I will be adding 1" foam board perpendicular to that prior to adding the 1/4" fiber board with white foil coating(reflects about 95% of the light) that will be the interior walls. All of this will be done to help with the temp as it is an attic grow as well as to cut down/remove any sound. I will be running a closed system 12,000 btu window a/c to cool the main room which then passively feeds air to each flower and veg room. The main room will also be co2 controlled with a fuzzy logic monitor kept to 1350 ppm at all times. Fresh air will be sucked into the bottom of each flower/veg room from the main room with can fans and cleaned with carbon scrubbers and dumped back into the main room which is temp and co2 controlled. The lights will also be air cooled and unfortunately fed from the same main room..I say unfortunately due to the added stress on the a/c system but thats the only way to do it due to the attic grow. It will be nice in the winter as it gets very cold here so the lights should keep the area warm. The Veg and Dry rooms will get air thru a cpu fan as while I will need fresh air I will not need nearly the volume as I will with the flower rooms.

I will be growing in an AeroJet 4 tray sytem in each of the 2- 4x6 Flower Rooms. Each tray consists on 5- 4" pots for a total of 20 plants per flower room. The lights will be Sunlight Supply's Coolbreeze air cooled hoods with a 1000w Eye Hortilux HPS. Each room will be exhausted with can fan scrubber combos with passive intakes from the bottom of the temp/co2 controlled main room.

The veg room will consist of a few moms in soil and cuttings in domes on heating mats in 1.5" rockwool cubes for later transplant. Tek Lights will give these the 24x7 light they will need. Fresh air will be brought in with a cpu fan.

They dry room will have several wire mesh shelves and be ventilated with a cpu fan. (I can't wait to fill it up.. I'm still 3-4 months away but will have a monthly harvest after that).

I will try and take some pics tommorrow of the temp grow area, 2 mothers, 3 cuttings and the partially framed Grow Room Under Construction and post them when I have a chance..

For those of you that wonder about about my goals and a budget for something like this. Here ya go...

Goal of 2lbs per 30 day monthly harvest. That's about 1.6 oz/plant or .9 grams/watt. Only time will tell..

Budget.. Here's a rough Breakdown..

$500 - 2 Clones... I know that's alot but the guys a F of a F and he's and ass. But this is perfect genes and everything and already sexed rooted etc and handpicked from the best mothers..

$4,850 Local Hydro Store.. Sounds like alot but thats lights, fans, filters, AeroJet Systems, testers, nutes, co2 supplies and controlers etc...Sitting on a palet in the back of the store..50% paid for awaiting most construction to be finished

$500- Construction Supplies...About done buying as I have just about all the supplies priced out or bought..

$350- A/C system

So $6200 should just about do it... It won't seem like much after the 1st harvest of many..

I'll try to post pics and update as progress continues...

Good Luck all..:peace:
