Oh you guys think you're so cool cuz you know how to read! "Oh look at me reading a book! I'm so intelligent!" You know who else knows how to read? North Korean prisoners of war! Yes that's right! They can read too! You are no better than a North Korean prisoner of war. And they read sophisticated things like the scratch marks on the wall. And dear leader propaganda. I am so high right now.

Something bad happens to Keto bread when you try to toast it. The texture kinda changes and it tastes bad.
Yeah I gave up on keto bread, keto tortillas etc... now I just treat myself on rare occasion, sigh.

I rarely eat anything sweet and today I'm going to be making Pão de Mel. It's similar to a Hostess Ding Dong, except the filling is Dulce de Leche. The cake is similar to gingerbread. So I have to test some recipes today so it's nothing too spicy for a two year old. Then I get to dip the Brigadeiros in the same chocolate to make truffles. None of which I can eat but I must taste and spit out LOL It's going to be a long weekend with enticing smells LOL

Nice! I've finally gone to a couple dispensaries and been trying out the different types of concentrates, pressings got me interested (I got a press for Christmas) and I've tried pressed and some supercritical CO2 extractions, interesting stuff.
Our MMJ is still pretty narrow in scope but if there was a silver lining to the pandemic it's that several laws were relaxed with MMJ. Still waiting on the full legal so I can get back to growing again. I miss the tranquility and warmth in the dead of winter of artificial sunlight lol.

I'm in chop right now and it feels so good sitting under the big HPS with my Method 7's feeling the warmth. It's perked me up a little earlier than usual. Not enough to kill more than 1 plant a day but still feeling better LOL

I hope they legalize soon for you guys. I don't understand why the feds don't de or re schedule it. Oh well promises promises.

That's awesome! The literal fruits of the labor stage! I gifted srh and tangerinegreen most of my stuff. But kept 1 600w just in case I wanted to grow something legal. But I haven't. And it's still sitting in a bin lol. One day..

My personal copy. It's been a wealth of information and it is well used as you can see by the damage my wet hands have left on it LOL, it's a good read and a better reference.
I love cookbooks...especially those that have some age on them.

That bread pudding recipe came from an old composition notebook that holds my grandmothers handwritten collection of recipes. Its mostly pies, jams, and breads.

Its so endearing to read her measurements. Her flour "cup" wasnt actually an 8 oz measuring cup. It was an old ceramic coffee cup with a missing/broken handle.

That generation was so frugal - nothing was wasted and most things were repurposed.

How is Tangerinegreen? Havent seen him around for bit. I dont think I've seen srh either.
Hope they're both doing well.
I think srh still pops in here and there. Probably busy being a master plumber and laying all that pipe in karah.

Tangerinegreen I think said he was having to help his daughter with some things and would be mia for a bit. If I recall correctly. I don't always. @tangerinegreen555 we miss you on da webs.

I like cookbooks. I usually get one or two for my birthday or Christmas. Got these three just recently.

So far they are pretty good.

This one gets used a lot. I found it at the library and ended up buying it online a while back. Very interesting and each recipe has different variations to tweak it to your liking.

I tried bread pudding for the first time just a few years ago at Disney World. I fucking loved it. And is one of the few things that I actually have made! Hold the raisins though. :p. I like them just fine by their lonesome though. Grabbing a chocolate chip cookie and biting into it only to find you've been duped by an oatmeal raisin is soul murder.

My wife is from Guizhou which is the province just south of Sichuan. The food is very similar. I'm pretty spoiled. One of my favorites is double cooked pork belly.

Frozen blueberries and white chocolate are an excellent addition to any sweet bread pudding recipe.

And I love twice cooked pork. Haven’t eaten pork in years but that was one of my faves.

I went to the meat counter at my local market and asked if he had a whole pork belly he could sell me. He got this kind of confidential look on his face and said I think I can help you and walked into his freezer and came back with an entire cryovacced belly. He sold it to me for 4.99 a pound. Took it home and portioned it up into the chest freezer.. It's all gradually turning into twice cooked pork or red cooked pork.. It's going to kill me I know : )
