Wow. I wish i knew that before I wasted my money. I just don’t get the entire roll part. I think a lobster burrito or taco would be better. The hole idea lobster roll idea is so gimmicky. It's still hard shell season for lobsters and they'll molt into their new shells in a month+.
Some people like hardshell because their shells are completely packed with meat and they think they're getting more meat, but imo, like you said, zero flavor. Especially when it's drowned in mayo..soft shell lobster contain more water in the shells when you crack them, but much sweeter. Night and day from a hard shell.
But yeah, that f-ing roll that was on is atrocious. Lobster rolls should be on a cheap hot dog roll with celery salt( optional ) I'm suspicious when they start jazzing up rolls with a non-traditional bun.
Best of luck with the new move!
At first I thought $30 was reasonable this time of year, hard shells prices are higher than soft shells. But after asking my friend who losters what boat price was ( what the wholesalers pay the boat owner directly) it sounds like the restaurant you were at are overcharging a bit. Boat price rn is $6.50 a lb ( low for hardshells) and there probably was about 1 lobster worth of meat in that roll. $20 woulda been more of a fair price. But like you said, you're paying for hype.Wow. I wish i knew that before I wasted my money. I just don’t get the entire roll part. I think a lobster burrito or taco would be better. I’m not falling for scams like this anymore. I had a similar scam in NYC with a Ruben sandwich that was $25. A line out the door for the most Die for Ruben sandwiches ever made at Katz’s Deli. Not worth it. Total hype.
They have a little Cajun spice on them now, I went light with it because someone around here can't hang with much heat recently. Still a little kick however.Got some shrimp to go with my baby Turkish Romaine Caesar Salad.View attachment 5395464View attachment 5395465View attachment 5395466
You mopped them with crushed berries and mustard seed? Or did you cook that a little first? Looks really good.Bratwurst broiled with whole seed mustard and blackberries, topped with carmelized onion, jalapenos, pickle and bacon.

That and a nice cool tumbler of a white would be perfection.
