ok here's what i have just personally found- since i got the humidifyer the temps want to stay above 80 all the time. Before, without the humidifyer, mid to upper 70. Even with the humidifyer, the humidity hasn't gone above 34%, thats why i was wonderin about the placement in the room. I'll keep it goin for now, play with the fans a little see if they're the problem. If the humidity stays that low through tonight i'll probobly pull the plug on it.

umm where did you put the humidifier? and how close is it to the hygrometer? i dont understand how that wouldnt raise your humidity...

It's in the corner of the table my plants are on, so its at plant level about a foot and a half away from them. My themometer/hydrometer sits on the pots for now, right at the tops of both plants. I know the humidifyer's workin cuz it's steamin away. I was thinkin maybe one of my fans was messin with it so I've been adjusting them and taking readings to see what works best. Just checked on them, and right now i'm at 82degrees and 28%humidty, the humidity is rising slowly since i toyed with the fans, about an hour or so ago

That's what i was hoping for out of mine. Couldn't see how all that steam wouldn't raise it, i think I'm on to somethin with the fans though, now it's 29% and 81

yeah i know that the higher humidity can cause mold and bud rot etc, especailly during flowering, but i still dont understand how it isnt cooler? my room stays around 80 with a 30% humidity, with my evaporative cooler on it drops to around 75 with 50% humidity...
I never said that a humidifier wouldn't make it cooler-just that higher humidity in the air itself is not cooler---the humidifier is basically causing flash evaporation and that's what brings down the temps. I would recommend more room exhaust to cool the room. Like I said before-my room runs 25 to 35% without any problems-zero signs of dry air stress or heat issues. Keep your temps below 80 and your plants will do great.

ok. i think that makes sense haha. well my temps are ranging from about 75-85 and 40%-60% humidity and they seem to be doing fine. whatever works i guess...

Mine are doin fine as well, minus a touch of burn two leaves got from the hps before i got the ac, and the leaves don't feel too thick. But it's all about creating the best evironment for the plant possible, to keep the grow goin nice and smooth, and maximizing yield, healthy plants are happy plants, and happy plants make for some happy smokin.... RIGHT? ... DK, the closet is about 7h x 5w x 3d but with the hps hangin from the clothes bar, it's only 6h.

nice thats exactly the same size as mine haha. yeah i dont think it really matters as much as long as your conditions done fluctuate too much. ive heard of people growing plants fine with temps up to 90...

lookin at the thermometer here, says the high for humidity was 45% Low 80's will do during the day for now, the plants seem to be pretty happy, and come flowering time i want that 10-20 degree drop in temp at night time to kick it into gear. This shouldn't be a prob at all since winter's comin up on us quick out here
