Never thought I would say this.. but my plants are TOO BIG

What's up forum,

So, the 16th of October will mark the third week of my very first flowering stage and my pretty prom queens are quickly becoming amazonian warrior princess's. Some are taller than my hoods, to which I place in between the hoods (the top 8 inches only has residual light, should this worry me?)

My question is... How much more will these be expected to grow? I comprehend that different strains produce different sizes but I am in week 3, will they continue to exceed? Will they hit a growth spurt or do you think they have already? Things that scare me is the fact that most of the main colas will not have direct light beaming on them.

Should I begin bending immediately? DARE I top them 3 weeks in? Should I hang some florescent's to "beam" light on the colas?

I will try and get pictures up a.s.a.p

Thanks for your time.

You need to start bending them if you have room to. What I like to do is train them for a week or so by slowly bending the colas over to one side, bending them a little more each day and tie them each time. Once the stalk is horizontal with its self I like to tie it off like that and then start bending the cola in the other direction. Eventually you will end up with an S shape stalk and it will save you some height space if you tie off the S part so that it cannot get straight again. This does take some practice to do though and if you do try this do it slowly and do just a little a day. I personally would not top at 3 weeks of flower. Plants stretch for 3-5 weeks in my experience, you just have to get to know your strain and how it grows which can take a few runs. If nothing else just start bending it normally and you should be fine.

No need for Pics
Supercropping, prayer and LST
(just kidding about the prayer)
At some point they will stop growing. You can also try moving them off to the side of the light then rotate them clockwise everyday so all the plant gets some light

Hi, I don't want to hijack the thread or anything, but it's kindof on topic : When do they stop growing? When they start actually flowering?

Thank you for the reply.

In your experience did your yield increase by bending the cola?

I have two Hog's Breath off to the side, sadly. I turn them 180 degrees everyday.

While my large Tutti Fruity and Endless Sky are in between two hoods :/

I began bending them down a little bit today, hope they're doing OK tomorrow..

I would not recommend supercropping this late into flowering that much stress could cause hermie... def tie them down tho man! just be careful not to break them

I ended up supercropping a couple of them and tying down others. they are looking very nice and the nodes in the middle are getting huge, this is going to be a big harvest.
