The smell is really going to depend on what strain your growing and the amount.

It sounds like your doing a small grow, 1-4 plants, so I wouldn't worry too much.

If your living in an apartment or nearby another house...then a filter system might be neccessary.

Do you live in CA? Do you have a MMJ rec? I do and I reccommend the same for you if it's possible. It will relieve alot of the nervousness.

Now, regarding the lights, 4 x 26w CFL's is nothing....it's only 100 watts. My A/C unit runs at 1340 watts!!!!

But if you want some good bud and a good yield, your gonna need more than CFL's for your flowering stage.

Generally speaking there will be a smell, how much and how strong depends on the strain. There are some that are low odor like Northern Lights......using 100 watts of CFL wont raise any questions, i use 120 watts of CFL, 150 watt HPS and a 400 watt HPS and dont have any problems....To put it in perspective my computer has a 500 watt Power supply....just pay your electric bill and you'll be fine

If it's only 1 plant...shouldn't be a problem. But I would definitely get some more CFL's. Home Depot sells some 300w equivalent CFL's for pretty cheap.

M8 that lowryder diesel STINKS to high heaven - if you're worried about smell this is not the strain for you :bigjoint:

I have just started my self and was wondering about watt's as well. I am only running a 430hps and a fan so I'm not worried but I am thinking about using another light. Do you know how many watts a 430 use?
