Negotiating prices at Home depot

Just wanted to let fellow growers know that I have found that prices are negotiable at Home depot. If you go when it's not busy, you hit it off with the person helping you, and you catch them in a good mood you can actually negotiate the prices on stuff with them.
I've done this several times on all types of stuff. It doesn't always work but most employees have the ability to negotiate the prices on items if they want to. Perhaps you have to be a good negotiator and like I said, catch them in a good mood but if they want to they can hook you up.
I just got a bookcase at 40% off that wasn't on sale.

I used to work at Home Depot and as an associate anyone can take an automatic 10% off an item. Since I was at the service desk and the vault room they said i could go up to 40% within reason. Definitely haggle with them and you'll get something off, which can be helpful to some people in a pinch.

I wish I knew this years ago, thanks for confirming.
