I installed the inline fan I said was too noisy. I noticed that if I ran the ducting longer it was quieter. Now you can only hear it if I run it full speed. Or if my room fan is off. Just happy I got it quiter and can use it. The humm doesn't bother me anymore just sounds like my neighbors ac a little.

Well then im missing somthing becaues in your picture your fan is open on the front and i see no filter so how are you pulling through it?? If you where pulling through the fan then it would have to be INFRONT of your fan not behind it......... Is this picture old have you now put your filter in front of the fan inside the grow box?? I dont get how your pulling through it when you said its on the back side of the fan??
I have another smaller cab ontop of the one with the fan it it, this cab has my filter and air pump etc.

I just found these on ebay, what do peole think? Im a little worried now as some reports i have read say fan speed controllers drastically lower fan life expectancy.

Any advice would be welcome.
My man, My thinking is they only gonna do the same as the dimmer socket!

No that's my only fan, I have a Veg cab and a flowering cab with one fan in each. It's pulling air out of the cab and up into my filter. I have a 4" intake hole the opposite side of the cab at the front.

once the air leaves the backside of your inline fan the air is now being pushed not pulled.so if the fan is pushing air from the backside of your fan then going into your fitler that means its pushing air into your filter from the inside out.....what kinda filter are you using?? A regular carbon scrubber with a dust cloth on the outside?? If so then your pushing air through the filter from the inside out that means that the air is going through the carbon then past the dust filter but the air is suppose to go through the dust filter then the carbon......thats why most people put there filter in FRONT of the fan inside there grow cab so the air is PULLED through the filter then past the fan and then PUSHED out from there... I can clearly see that you have nothing in front of your fan so that means you can only be pushing air not pulling because the only thing your pulling is the ambient air in the grow space , your pulling it into that big fan then pushing it the rest of the way........ Im i still missing something??
