Need Suggestions on Mainline+Basic Questions

Ok, let's get right into it. Using FoxFarms Ocean Forest mix. In the beginning I was having some nutrient problems but when defoliating and hst the problems seem to have have gone away. It has only been about a week though since mainline operation has started. I topped right at the fourth node which is Making me think that is why the stem is a little skinny, but it is slowly getting thicker so I think we're good. The only real problem right now is the fact that I'm watering once or twice a day amd the leaves are still droopy. My theory is that the plant is really stressed because of the hst and rapid defoliation. I use a small amount of water too as to not overwater. I did notice today that watering twice does cause leave tips to curl, meaning overwatering. So, my other theory is that the roots need more space to grow and that it is time for a new pot. Tell me what you think.

If you've actually read all of this thank you. It's very rare for me to actually get a response on this site except for the one time I caused a spider farmer crisis so yeah...

It for sure is ready for a bigger pot like mentioned above. I also don't see the need for mainlining unless you just want to try it for the experience. You can get good results with canopy control using other methods that will slow your plant down a lot less than mainlining in my opinion but everyone has their own way of doing things. I'd rather tie branches down and super crop any out of control branches during stretch but that's just what works for me. Mainlining seemed to be too much work for the results I got. It was pretty and made for nice pictures but didn't get me the yields to be worth the effort. I still top most of my strains at least once, I just don't go all out with the whole mainline process. Good luck with your girls.

Def needs a bigger pot to grow in. I think due to the pot size you are under/over watering.

How many nodes did it have when you topped to the 4th?

As one of the resident mainliners here I can attest that through my personal experience I do prefer mainlining vs other growing methods. The consistency across all the nodes/branches is very pleasing, and virtually no larf. I documented my previous 2 grows, I'll link them here if you want to take a look. I am also about to flip to 12/12 on my current grow, where I am experimenting with "dual-lining" vs mainlining (have 2 mains instead of just 1). I'm very happy with how this run is going, I was able to save about a week to a week and a half of time vs traditional mainlining with this method and the shock periods were little to zero.

There's no right or wrong. Do what makes you happy, as long as it's not based off broscience lol
