Need some Jack Herer Grow Advice.

My plants have been planted from seed about 3 weeks ago. I have two really nice larger plants about 6"-7" tall. Then I have 3 runts. But they are starting to pick up some speed on their growth.

I planted 5 seeds and have identified for sure 3 females. Pretty sure one of the others is a female. And the last one Im not sure yet havent seen any pistils.

They are Jack Herer seeds. Anyways I have been reading up on them and they seem to flower really tall since they are a sativa dominant strain. My original plan was to SCROGG them and LST them to keep them lower on a net till I flower them but now I am not sure if I should be switching to a flowering light period.

Should I go ahead and make the switch to flowering? And still SCROGG/LST or should I keep vegging them repot to final containers and then go to FLOWERING light schedule once I have achieved my desired canopy fullness?

I am looking to get the best yield my grow area is 5x5x7 feet. And I have one 600 Watt HPS bulb.

Here are some pictures of the tallest plants right now.

I've grown galactic jack, which is a cross of jack herer and alien dawg.
Its a great heady high.
My closet sounds very similar to yours, so I'll lend ya 2 cents:

The strain has a wicked stretch for the first 2-3 weeks after the 12-12 switch.
After that, I prune a few bottom branches off them, and just bend the tops sideways tied to a stake.
Otherwise, they would grow into my lights.
They end up finishing with long top buds, consisting of mini buds growing sideways.
I've been pleased with the turnouts I've gotten from them.

You have no idea if they are male or female until theyre about 2 weeks into flower. The veg pics show nothing.
I grow Jack Herrer fairly regularly and there are definitely a few phenos.
You dont know if youll be switching to a flowering light? Why not?

I agree. I saw no early flowers there, of either sex.

You can veg plants until they show a pre-flower, and/or
take a clone and flower that in a beer cup just to see the sex.

Good luck.
