need some help

i was wondering if i needed a speical light socket or something to plug in a metal halide bulb it is 100 watt and i tried plugging it into one of those light reflectors usually used for reptiles but it didnt work. Do you think its broken cause when i took it, it was working.... Any guesses?

Yes, a special socket and i would recommend a ballast =)

its only a 100 watt though and arnt those expensive? What is something i can like get at home depot thats cheap to use it, or even around my house?

You dont HAVE to use a ballast, just makes for better watt/usage. You can get both a light fixture and socket at Home depoy. Look around in the Grow faq here.
