Need some fan control advice!

I have a 6" Hurricane 435 CFM fan. I am running a 1000w MH/HPS setup.

I DO NOT have a speed controller and the fan is extremely loud (Duh, right?). I was looking into getting a speed controller that also doubles as a temperature controller. I would want it to kick the fan on at a set temperature and then slow it down (not off, b/c I want to keep scrubbing smelly air).

At "night" (really day time, I run my lights at night to take advantage of lower temperatures), I want the fan to run to keep scrubbing the air, I just don't want it going full blast. My ambient temperatures outside the tent are around 65F, so I wouldn't want my plants dropping that low (or is it good to drop that low?).

I was looking at the Titan Controls Mercury 4, does anyone have any experience using this with a Hurricane fan? I do not want a loud humming noise or to burn up my fan's motor!

In Europe we have a decent controller called SMS SMARTCONTROLLER.

You set an idle speed for your fan. I put mine on 50%.
Then you set a temperature to maintain. Mine is 22C ambient.

Then there is a temperature probe to hang in your room that is attached to the controller.

It then measures the temperature in your room, adjusts the fan speed to maintain the temp anywhere between your idle set point and 100%.

At night when the temp drops it kicks into idle mode.

I find 50% idle helps keep my room around 18C/65F when the air isn't too cold from my intake.

When my intake temps drop too low I add my Dehimidifier to generate extra needed heat.
