hi there, happy newyear everyone, im a first time grower and the plants have shot up quicker than expected. I've just started to flower them today but a few shoots are almost touching my light. im using an envirolight 200w so the heats not scorching but i really dont want to get any leaves to burn, melt on the bulb and blow it.
I understand that when the plants are well into the flowing stage they stop growing vertically, and flowering is brought on by hormones made in the night destroyed in the light. to speed up these hormones and stop vertical growth should i mayby switch to say 10hrs of light 14 of night rather than 12/12? or should i just crop the plants by snapping back the branches of the leaves near the light? I've read that you shouldn't crop them during flowering to minimise stress but im guessing less than 12hrs of light would also lower the amopunt of bud, my main concern is the light tho i really dont want it to burst.
I cant move the light up or the plants down btw.
thanks
