What it boils down to is ego. You have to drop that to be involved in a successful relationship. You have to put in the work, and be willing to do things you probably would have never done before. Being 100% involved is hard for a lot of guys because they're so worried there giving up something "worthwhile" when in reality you're not giving it up...just putting it on the back burner for someone more important. Funny thing is...when you find the one you wont even care.

But if you're with someone good that shows from the beginning, and if you're lucky enough to find that person it's going to give you a return on that investment from the get-go. My marriage might not be perfect, but it's good, and it's strong. Funny thing is...I knew that even before we got married.

I would go out with my friends, especially if I'm always with my girl. me and my girlfriend have had things like this come up...and it always depends on how long it's been since I've been with my buddies. to me it sounds like you hardly get to see them and that you've been looking forward to hanging out. I think that if she really loved you that she would understand; she's your wife, but your still you and you should have time for yourself sometimes.
hey there gravy22, what do you think she would do in your position? personally when my (ex)b/f and i made separate plans and the others plans went to shit, we still went our separate ways. absence makes the heart grow fonder ya know. You do seem like a level headed guy and im sure you will make the sound decision. remember the whole part of going out with friends is to be away from each other for a while. she just wanted to chill with the girls and gossip. im sure she wont leave you for it. have fun!

Yeah it's been a while, and im just wanna head out with them, and get bombed. We operate alot on "Our" time, and I just wanted to do things on my own time. When I wanted, how I wanted, where I wanted...you know?
Oh and dude. The firecracker experience was awesome. It was a little hard to take down which sucks because Im a peanut butter guy, but once I did, and the effects set in it was great. It was like my brain was sober but my body was drunk, all I could do was laugh at how non-compliant my body was. It doesn't seem like an everyday kinda thing though.

There can't be anything you're going to do with your mates that you can't do with your missus yeah? Grab some ale, some nice bud, some meat and salad and have a barbie somewhere (damn, it's snowiing where you are)...or something.
I dunno. I don't have that issue to deal with. With my ex, it was "I go with you or you stay home boy!" With Ph03nix, it just isn't an issue. We are a pair of 'Norman No Friends'. The close friends we do have are mutual friends that we both hang with or visit. I guess I'm the last person who should be offering advice really...but, if it *was* me, I'd be taking Ph03nix out with the boys as well.
