Hey guys and girls... i have a little issue here that I need help with.

I had a recent high ph of about 7.5 - 8 and I believe that I now have a nute lock situation, hence the yellow top leaves. I also think that because after i check the ppm every morning, the ppm goes up about 300-400 ppm. so water is going but not the nutes. lastly i had made a batch of 600ppm and it read today 1050ppm and a ph of 7.1. I also noticed if looking closely that the very root tips are browning, indicating burn.
so I dumped the tubes and dropped the nutes to 200ppm @ 5.5 hoping to kinda flush whatever buildup in wool and also provide fresh water at a low ppm.

plants still seem to be growing as well as roots.

please provide me with your thoughts to see if i am going in the right direction.

thanks a million

Agree, run plain water at least a few days. Add nutes back slowly.

Ok well, so you guys think that i've got the right impression, about the burn that is. Could, in you guy's opinion, think that the yellowing of the top leaves can be caused by over nutes?

I want to hit 12/12 but I need to fix this ASAP before hand.

Thank you in advance for your help. :)

Even if it were caused by something else, which is possible, the treatment would still be to flush and run plain water and adds nutes back slowly. That's like the "take two aspirin and call me in the morning" of weed doctoring.

Thank you guys for all the help... as you all suggested, i filled the tubs with 5.5 H2O and nothing more. Upon further examination, it does look like overnuting. Really dark lower leaves w/burnt tips, and so on and so forth. At least I hope that I am not imagination.

Thanks!~

Hey mrduke, i made the aquamist system. I live in a 3d world country and the materials that are available in the US are not here. I used some pvc, irrigation heads, and some imagination. Each holds 28. I am looking to yield about 112 OZs. I also have 2 600w hps and lots of ventilation. Let me know if you want more info or pics. :)

Happy Growing!!!!!!

you will do well to get 2oz per plant with the sites so close together, I wish you all the luck in the world though.

ps.You may achieve a better yield if you cull a few weaker plants when you decide to go 12/12, also are they all clones then?

Hey there mrmadness. are you adding back straight water to the res as the plants feed? if not, the nutes could be concentrating, leading to problems. since you're running a pretty much aeroponic-type system, swings in ph and ppm's can be unforgiving and quickly lead to problems. just like flying and staying ahead of the plane, stay ahead of the plants too. best to cut these problems off before they even start. remember, you're a tall drink of water! o boy
