I am glad I came across this thread before I made what might have been a stupid (more expensive less efficient) purchase! Thank you OP for poating the question and for all the experienced gentlemen in advance.
How do you guys feel about California Light Works' SolarStorm 440 or 880 (when compared to the above-mentioned lights)?
I want to supplement my 600w HID setup (possibly turning down the ballast to 75%) to light a 4×4 area. I decided on this (vs replacing my current HID setup all together for the 880w) because well its cheaper and also by doing it this way i can get the best of both worlds (and avoid the uncertainty in the heat of HID vs LED controversy and battles) ... plus my HID setup is kunda new.
