Need info on unfamiliar strains

Anyone ever heard of Headband 707? How about Maui Wowie? I know Wowie has been around forever but is it still the same thing? Also if I dip these things in some cold water will it help rid or prevent spider mites. They are about 10-12" and well rooted. Thanks
