Like the title says, My 600 watt hps was left on for about 20 hrs. I have never done this before, anyone know of any ill effects it might have on plant.

Thanks for replies. I discovered this about 5pm. Just going to run it on a 5am on to 5pm off schedule. Was running at night, because of cold weather. I will be checking on these about 1 am to see if tiny heater is keeping the box warm enough.. If less than 50 dgrees, I have to go back to using light at night for partial heat, which means only 8 hrs darkness for tonight. Because if it's less than 50 at 1 am, light is coming on right away.

Found what I think is mold on one of them yest. Looked like a tiny white cotton ball on the bud leaves. Looked like it was on bud, but after looking closer is was on the tiny leaf coming out of bud. Treated with power wash yest, I cut off two branches where buds had the spots. It hasn't spread, I will be using mighty wash on next dark period. This mold can fool ya a little. It looks like buds are frosting up. I hoping that might be it, but when only 1 or 2 leaves are frosty and the rest are sorta frosty. Kinda makes ya nervous. Treating them with both of these will not hurt, so what the hell.
The second pic. is the one with what I think is mold. With jewelers eye it looks like sand?

If it's one or two times, no worries, if you don't catch the problem in time the plant will go back into veg and start growing leaves out of the buds, giving you that leafy pot.

This is the first mishap on these two. Still learning here. I have this problem of wanting to try different things for best results, and I think it's costing me time and money in the long run. One of things I did on the second pic is I pruned the piss out of it. I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have.
1. Didn't see mold until it was up on the buds. Normally you would see this on fan leaves first and treat. There might be 5 or 10 fan leaves on this entire plant. They are pretty small.
2. I cut off two branches, because it looked like the had mold on them. The buds on these two branches were sopping wet????? My thinking is no leaves to use up water???? I know that seems a little out there, but what the hell, were all learning. The colas on them, I just cut off the mold and the rest is drying, Ultimatly I'm thinking this will tell me if it was definatly mold, because I'm sure I there was some hiding inside bud, it will probaly spread to the few other buds. If it does I will do some emergency treatment and soak in water and peroxide. Save what I can.

Somewhere on here recently a guy did some time lapse video of his plants. it is plain to see the plants have a cycle. it would be unwise to flip the light schedule to the opposite 12/12. They all ready know when to expect light, and dark, they prepare for it a cpl hrs before it happens possibly. if the light ran in the on position for to long, just correct it.

Granted this theory may be unproven, but why take the chance. im pretty sure that would be a major shock to their rhythm, where as just having a few hrs longer one day isnt so much.

maybe jus my opinion, take it for what its worth....

Sounds like you have a humidity problem. And here's what I do for pruning. Most say prune a lot, some say don't prune at all. I meet in the middle and mildly remove obvious light blockers. You don't want to take too many at one time because it will seriously piss your plants off. Those are your solar panels and food storage for the plant so.. yeah, don't take too many at one time, they really are pretty important. If they are majorly blocking light to below, just take one leaf per day. That's what I do and it seems to work.

You don't have to of course, some people would disagree with me, but, it's sort of a back and forth debate weather or not to prune. So you'll hear good advice, bad advice, remove advice, leave em on advice. I had to learn by trial and error.

Should I leave off for 20 hrs? or put it back on now, which would only give it about 6 hrs dark time? My schedule was 9pm to 9am.
Only my 3rd grow, so yes I'm still asking stupid questions.

Just to add a bit to pruning I believe I have read some strains tolerate pruning while others don't the big budders probably tolerate it less.
