need ideas for grow room set up

I have a 7ft long 3.5ft wide 9ft high closet so I got so questions
1. Should I do flat white I read it reflects light better

2. Should I do a hydro set up or soil I'm looking to not have to be checking on the room every day

3. What basic nutrients sets are good on amazon I'm not wanting to spend a ton just something that works

4. If I use hps for veg and flowering should I get two 150w or one 400w or a 600.... I will also have a bunch of random 4ft shop lights & cfl lights in different areas basicly for side lighting....

Also I will be having 6 plants to start with tell I know the sex 3 cluster bomb from archive seed bank and 3 bag seed from cheese quake

I'll also have about 3 fans to cool the area when lights are on room stays a good them as it is and if I need I can vent thru the cold air return into the basement I'm not concerned with the smell honestly if I could vent I to my ductwork to stink up the house I would lol

Any advice helps alotcuz seeds are planted and about to sprout so I'm in a rush to get started

if you dont want to check the room everyday go with soil. almost any nutrient will work well your basically paying for the name imo. i would try to get 2 600w systems look into switchable so you can run both MH and HPS. Also you might want to hook up exhaust to your cold air return just to be sure the heat doesnt build up, get a thermal switch so the exhaust only kicks on when it gets over a specific temp. as for the wall flat white will work, mylar would work better if you have the extra $ for it

K I know I can get MH set up cheap if not for free ( with end result compensation from my budy at the aquarium wholesale store) I'll see what he has for HPS setups I'm doing this to see how little I can spend to get good results I'm not looking to harvest pounds upond pounds at a time just a good amount of quality buds. Due to I'm sick of taking medication all the time and spending stupid amounts on medical mj. I have extremely bad joint and muscle pains to where it takes some times up to an hr just to stand up out of bed. So if I could harvest a few oz. Every month to month and a half I'll be happy

Also would it be better to do a vertical grow ?

Nice one trut, you germinate before researching I like it...its better to just dive in anyway im no expert but hydro seems the way to go in terms of speed/yield & no insect attack but requires some effort as screediu mentions, although a DWC once setup is fairly straighforward. Soil is good of course & I hear coco coir especially because it allows more oxygen for the roots but they require nutes now & then like hydro. Also yes paint the inside white.

You said you didn't want to check on the plants everyday but if your using cfls you're gonna have to in order to make sure they don't burn any leaves since you have to place them so close to be effective. If you had the extra few bucks then I would consider selling the HPS system & purchase an LED instead...they work just as well if not better but with no heat issues & less power consumption. Also have you looked into auto strains...decent yields, fast finish & generally easier to grow, might be suitable in your case. Not sure about vertical grow, I think its part of a SOG (sea of green) where you grow many plants with tall 1x central cola's so not ideal for you but pls double check as im not 100%. In any case good luck buddy

Don't get me wrong yes I germinated already but I already have a veg room set up so they can sit for a bit I like to think of my self as a man of action and get down to business next I will get auto if I do led I would prefer to make my own cuz I can get a lot of stuff free

When I get home I'll toss up some pics of all The potential stuff I have that I can use to set up the room as for hydro I have no problem checking on the system and plants I would just like to not have to check to see if i need to water every day and not have a mess to tend too

2: 5' ft 2.5" PVC pipe
1: 6' 6" pvcpipe
5: 4' shop lights
3: 30 gal rbermaid tubs
60: 5 gal hard plastic storage bins
And 6: 6500°k 1170 lumens 75 watt equivalent daylight CFL's

also some sheets of plexi glass. I thought maybe could be a barrier between cfl lights and plant

what kind of shop lights give me the specs pls

you dont want to put anything between the cfl's and the plants, glass itself will kill 5-10% of the lumens even on HID systems with cfl you need all the lumens you can get

hydro will grow faster bigger buds but i grow in soil that is kinda like hydro in a way im able to pull just under 2-3 ounces less then my mate that runs full hydro coco

Here are the tubes currently in the 4 ft shop light fixtures
Idk if it matters but the fixtures them self are just lights of america 4 ft dual shop lights

they will do it for veg man my old man only uses fluros

U say 2-3 oz less but how much does he pull cuz if it works out I'm not looming for huge massive yields but I'm not gonna turn down a good yield either I'd its there lol

Well I guess if I use those plus the CFLs for veg and HPS or led for flowering I should be good. Correct me if I'm wrong tho..... Cuz won't my 10 floro tubes take less energy and be cooler temp then say MH or HPS lights.

to be honest man we have got this down pat like me i have been doing this for about 10 years so i have my grows in tune big time my mate setup is worth about 6 grand with lights inlines timers co2 auto feeds climate controlls the lot thats in coco not haven a crack at u but for u to pull what were are would be a pipe dream for ur first time start off small work ur way up get what i have posted to u on my wall an u will be set mate u really need to get to no ur plants and tust me each system u use u will always have some sort of drama with it

not really no cause for 1 u are useing 10 tubes with a hps or mh u are useing 1 bulb

my 1 hps bulb 600w is cheaper to run then my dads 6 fluro tubes

4 tent system
1 is a t5 for seedlings............on top of the t5 u use a jiffy green house it will make u see sprouts in 3 days

2nd tent is veggie ...........use LED ........DWC ......they are each in own bucket not hooked into each other so u can stager

3rd tent is flowering .........use LED (heat factor).....RDWC..........this way they are all on one system with one controller
copy that one

4th tent is drying ...............u need to control the light the temp the humidty for several days to get the strongest stuff u can
personal i use a quick cure rack and a humiditifer and dehumitidier

this all goes into 1 room in that room u have it sealed off (poly wrap the walls and staple down) the ceiling u use a IR blocker
the walls a plan and bare u can attach th power strips to where u need it and any fans can be mounted

as for the window i would have atleast a 10,000 btu ac system to cool the room and the exhust u can dump it out the same window just put the ac to one side and use plywood to fill the gab then add a vent to attach the ducting too

as for what to run..............auto flowers u are done with in 74 to 110 days seed to smokable
i am pulling 4 to 8 oz off a plant in soil ,,,,,,,,,,,,,done 2 hydros 1st one 26 oz 20 grams (monster plant)...2nd one i got 11 oz 16 grams (water got too hot roots got cooked.........hence the LED not HID

justugh you should have read the very first line it has the measurements for the space he is working with. 4 tents would not work for him
