I'm currently constructing a new grow closet. 3'10" x 3'10" x 7' 6". There will be 3 rooms for clone/veg/flower. Clone and veg room are running fluoro tubes while the flowering room will have 2 600watts with cool tubes. My electrician is on board and has covered all of my electrical needs.

My questions are about the venting and the fans. My HVAC guy can do what i tell him to but isn't knowledgeable enough to ask these questions of. Can i split my vent 3 ways and pull from all 3 compartments with a single fan? If i can do this, do i need to overcompensate and get a larger fan? I'm legal but I'll be pulling through a filter to keep from having to provide my MMJ card every other week. Will I have to account for this as well? Since ill be using cooltubes, how big of a fan do i need to cool both tubes at once? Do they have to be closed circuit or can i use that fan to pull from the room in addition to the vent fan?

See? Lots of questions. I want to do it right though since this will be a permanent addition to the home. All help and suggestions are appreciated! :leaf:

ok first question i have ... your flowering rooms is about 4' x4'? ok to answer yours yes you can use one fan for all three but dont. you wont need a filter for the vegging/clones plus you need slightly diff. hummiditys in each so id use two fans also to answer your second question one 6inch inline should do both cool tube but a tip upgrade to a sun system yeild master 2 classic for about $100 each. a you can get valueline fans for about 90 buck for a 6 inch inline check the deals thread and questions i didnt answer i can .... plus for a room that small you dont need more than a 4 inch inline to exuast ... just please dont tell me your puttin 2 x 600w lights in UNDER 4x4 beacuase one will be just rin in that space

thanks for the speedy response! yes i plan on putting 2 600's in a small space but that's more lumens so nyah! I want to be able to vent it correctly though. How many CFM's should my fan/s be in this situation? I need to know what to tell my HVAC guy.

Not sure about pulling air through 3 pipes, you may need some inline fans but they are cheap $30-40

Yes you can run the 3 way split w/ carbon filter just get a good sized fan to use and pick up a speed controller for the fan as well to fine tune it

I have not used cool tubes I saw some others folks have answered that good luck

be sure to think about light contamination, an airvent would let light right down into a flowering room on night cycle

These pics help me once. I cannot remember where I got them or I would give credit.
Thanks Jedi, that's actually the set of pictures I have swimming around in my head atm.

Is anyone able to tell me what size/cfm fans i should be using in this scenario please?

I use a 290 cfm fan just for my 2 cooltubes with 2x600 watt hps and also a 440 cfm to exhaust the 4x8 area they are in... keeps temp 7 degrees higher than ambient temps

I use a 500CFM (+/- 50 cannot remember exact specs) for x2 600W HPS lights.

I also run it over 40 feet so I need the juice.

*EDIT

I do turn the fans on way low during the winter to prevent condensation, and on high as needed during the summer for cooling with a fan speed control switch.

ok so those 30-40 dollar inline fans are the bathroom type never over 105cfm spen 90 bucks and cool both of those babys down nicely and dude in a 3'10x ONE six could easyly produce a pound adding another will be lucky to get 10-15% more either use one or expand the space 50% to loike a 4x6 ... ive found with the 6's 4x4 is a bit big but 4x3 with reflector shapes is not half bad but again like i said go to the deals forum and they have real INLINE fans 80 buck 4inch and 90 for a 6 ... last time i bought and eco plus it was 129.99 so i will be ordering from soon.have any specific questions regarding specific cfm or lum's psf click my journal and go ahead and ask man i got all the knowledge right up top so i can get back at you quick
