I have a few questions regarding my grow room. It is currently in the conceptual stage, and I am trying to get an answer as to how limited my growing possibilities will be due to room design. It is important to note I am a first time grower and will continue to read and study this forum as best I can before beginning. This will be a "steath grow" and the targetted room is a crawl space on the second floor of an old home. In preparation, I have been cleaning this space out, which included removing insulation and other debris from my desired area. The area itself is secure as no one goes inside. It is also protected by a padlock. I would like to have both a veg and flower room inside this space. I am still figuring out details such as a source of power, however my main concern is with the dimensions of the space. The crawl space, being on the side of a room, is a right triangle. The tallest part being around 4 feet, which then sharply drops off until flush with the floor. The angle is probably around 45 degrees. The width of the floor is around 4 feet, and the length of the floor is around 5 feet. There are also roof supporting beams spaced on the ceiling, making the height of the room even shorter when taking into account the need to hang a ballast from these already lower beams. With the knowledge of having to space the 400 Watt HPS 18 inches away from the top of the plants, it seems my grow "room" is lacking in space.
That is just one issue, another being a wall covering. I am thinking mylar as I could staples these up from beam to beam where painting each beam etc would be a huge chore. As far as air flow, I will be running a dryer vent up through the attic and attaching it to the attic vents. Any idea what I will need to blast sufficent airflow upwards for about 10-15 feet of dryer vent?
