this is my grow box wich is prety much complete except for drain trays, small circulation fan, and of course my girls wich are under fluros atm (wich is the light reflection on the reflective backing).

i have chosen to do the scrOG method but im worried that i havnt left enough room between the screen and the lamp.

the light is a 250w HPS wich i built myself and will be used through all stages of growth because for some stupid reason i cant seem to find a MH conversion bulb.

The distance between the screen and the light is 50cm, will this be enough space for the colas to grow and not be burned by the light?

any advice/criticism would realy be appreciated, peace out:)

In my opinion, you have plenty of room. I have had only 12" between and it worked out fine. I was using zip ties to tie the colas down to the screen forcing them to grow horizontal. Looks like a well thought out setup.

Box look nice! Should be fine, I have roughly the same amount of room under a 400W HPS about 4 weeks into flower. I was very worried during the initial stretch but they calmed down after a couple of weeks. Pics on my journal, good luck!

have a look at my recent pics and you'll see that you have more than enough space, my last Master Kush canopy occupied about 8 inches of space above the scrog net so you should be fine. Plus you are using a 250W which ain't that hot at most. Nice looking set up!

Your cab looks good. I have one question/comment though. Is your light in a fixed position at the top of the cab, or can you raise/lower it?

I'm just asking as I think 50 cm may be too far away for a 250. It will work, but it would be more efficient (and give you more bud) if you could get it as close as possible to the tops. I can get my 250 within 4-5 inches of the tops without problems. (Bare bulb, with a fan directed towards it).

hey thanx man, yeh the light is in a fixed position atm but now i no i can put it closer im going to install railings down the sides of each wall so i can move the light up and down and lock it into position.

4-5 inches! and i thought 50cm was to close haha, so did u have any cooling with ur light being that close? and would it be absolutly necessary to have a circulation fan in the cab or could i just rely on the intake and exhaust pulling air through?

I have a small fan pointing towards the bulb, but no air cooled hoods or anything like that.

I'd definately advise a circulation fan in the cab, just to ensure that air gets mixed around a bit, and also to strengthen stems and guard against mold, etc.

you should always try to move the air between the plants canopy and lamp helps to reduce heat build up.

ok i guess ill install a small computer fan or something than for circulation,
oh and how much does a 250w cost to run? i couldnt imagine it would be very much but just a rough idea would be good

250w lamp uses 0.25kw/h of electric every hour.

(0.25 x hours used) x cost per kw/h = cost of your light.
