Hey just wondering if anyone can help with some problems with my first 2 plants, I'm growing in a PC grow box lined with orca grow, I'm growing 2 auto flowers 1 himilayan blue diesel - the larger of the 2 (it is 5 days older) and 1 short stuff #1 the short stuff has a couple of leafs that have small brown patches 1 of which had caused the tip of a leaf to become very brown and dry. Im also using plant magic soil and no nutrients yet. I've also been using books to put the plants a few centimetres away grow the lights I'm currently using a 40w and a 10w led bulb Any help would be much appreciated, cheers

Hey there toke. Over all seems like youve got some happy little plants there. I am not familiar with plant magic soil. Is it a fully amended soil? I could be totally wrong here, but looks like a slight calcium deficiency. Calcium is a mobile nutrient, meaning that it is easily movable inside the plant. The plant will rob older leaves to be able to supply the new growth with adequate amounts. Maybe try a light feeding of cal-mag, it's made by botanicare. Magnesium and iron, along with calcium are the most frequently overlooked micro nutrients in my opinion, and all very essential to a plants form and function. I am no pro just a dedicated hobbyist, hopefully this helped a little and hopefully youll get some more reply's and can get to the bottom of the issue!
Happy growing!

repot ur plants, stop watering so much, feed and adjust the pH of ur water, and get a 600 w mh for veg, watts = food for the plants

Well for starters looks like you are overwatering. That right there will cause a host of problems. People will start treating for a def when all that's needed is a lighter hand with the watering. The way your leaves look is a tell tale sign of too much water.

Over-watering also includes leaving too much run-off in your drainage tray. You only want to water your plants when the pots are almost at their dry weight and the plants are showing signs of lack of water. And you do not want to let your pots sitting in a pile of run off, your roots like oxygen

Cheers for the help, i've repotted them and start using terra vege - about 1/3 of the recommended amount for non-autos. If anyone else has some input that would be great, thanks again.
well done man repotting will help, the plants roots need lots of O2 and in early veg life its easy to overwater and cause leaf necrosis, a stronger light increases metabolism and these plants can take more water, but with low wattage u r going to be disappointed, when i was in india where they grow high up u need sunglasses man so lumens are the key to good growing, im a commercial grower with a lot of experience and im here to help

Cheers for the advice, I've reduced the amount I water them by and they seem to be doing better, I've also just ordered an additional 50w lamp to replace the 10w, It isnt a vast improvement - but it should help a little.

I've also started putting into the box a couple of bottles filled with water, yeast and sugar to ferment( with a small bit of cloth taped over the top) and act as mini c02 generators, again hopefully these will help them along their way.

good thinking re the light wattage increase that should feed em a few more photons, and any mistakes u make will help speed the learning, I hope it goes well for you and u get as much enjoyment as I do from growing weed
