Hi, so i got to grow upstairs in a bedroom closet which will be shut and sealed off as best as possible, i'll be using a 600w hps so i'm pretty sure i will have heat problems, i've never used any kind of ventilation before coz i've never had to, done alot of reading before asking here but i am having a hard time understanding it all, the closet is 4x3x8 which if i've done my reading right is 96cu ft and i plan on using a carbon filter so guessing i'll need a fan atleast 120CFM? what should i do? vent heat from light up into attic and bring fresh cool air into the bottom of closet? this is where i am confused lol the smell must not leak out so will need negative pressure? and i will get some weatherstrips to try seal it of evan better, my plans might be real stupid but thats why i am asking ere to get some advice from the pro's lol
cheers

passive intake means just that, no fan needed.as for cfm i dont know, i use two stanley blowers onr for the cooltube and one for the scrubber through a Y then into the attic

think i've got a bit of a dilemma, i understand i need atleast a passive intake and the bottom of closet but i dont know where to put it, i can either make it pull air from outside, now that would be good for when lights on to help cool the closet but when light off i'm certain my closet would end up freezing coz outside temps atm are 3c/37f, or i could make it pull air from the room outside which would be good for when the lights are off but not too sure it would be cool enough to cool the light when its on. could some1 please give me some advice please and still need advice on size of fan, intakes ect
Thanks

Sounds like you live in an area where it gets cold, I do too; maybe I can help by telling you what I do.

During the cold months I keep the room where my grow is cooler than the rest of the house, usually leave a window cracked open when its cool. When its really cold I shut the windows and leave the heat in that room at 60 degrees.

I have an air cooled hood w/ a Honeywell high output fan (walmart for like $25) pushing the air from the room into my hood, I use a 4 inch inline fan to pull air from the hood. This keeps my light cool. I can leave my hand on the hood and glass and its no hot at all. My plant tops get to as close as an inch and are fine. I think that that is the key, keep the hood cool and youve won the battle.

I use a 4 inch inline fan in the closet w/ a homemeade carbon filter to circulate and clean the air in the closet. For intake i have a tiny desk fan blowing air in. No real need for exhaust, the air gets cleaned, fresh air is constantly coming in and the light is always cool.
