not the switch i am tlking about is the switch that has MH and HPS labeled by it, replace it.

if you only remove it then you will still need the new ignitor or it will continue to destroy MH bulbs.

It won't keep destroying them it was just the bad surge from trying to use it in a hot ballast, the digital ballast won't turn on when its hot so on and off until it turns on causes this problem. The same would happen to the hps if it was plugged into a ballast that has been running for a while and turned off and on again. It's just eating at the light's life.

did we smoke one before reading all the posts?
like i said a faulty ignitor will cause your bulbs to be dim. no the MH does not use it, but if it is faulty and changing the properties of the electricity before going going to the MH, this can affect the MH negatively. so either fix the switch or the the ignitor. or both the HPS will probably continue to light with the bag ignitor for a while though, i would just replace the switch.
