Need Help Rooting Clones

I built a system that is inline with the DWC cloning systems on the market. The only thing I do not have is a dome over the top of the plants. I usually have a 99% success rate on clones and they usually root in about 2 weeks.

Recently I noticed that the clones are taking longer to root (up to and over 3 weeks). My percentage of clones that actually root has also dropped to around 70%. Nothing has really changed with the exception of outdoor temps.

The reason I bring up outdoor temps is that I'm now running the heat indoors. I imagine that my standard humidity levels in the house have dropped. It only stands to reason this would have an affect on my cloning production. I try to control the environment as much as possible, but this is one area I've never really had an issue with until now.

I'm curious if anyone else has any other thoughts that maybe I'm ruling out? I'm considering adding a humidifier to the closet where I have my clones to see if this helps.

just put humidity domes over the clones be it a big done or just cut up drinks bottles. You want as high a humidity level as possible with clones.

You want to try to avoid maximum humidity with clones. If there's enough humidity that water is accumulating on the ceiling of the cloning area and dripping on the plants, you want it to be a little dryer. If the plants absorb too much water through their vegetation either from high humidity, water dripping on them or from being misted, then they will be less likely to grow roots. Why would a plant grow roots on the bottom if all of its water is being absorbed through the top? Ideally, you want just enough humidity to keep the clones alive until they root. Any more is detrimental to rooting.

Many cloning systems are best warmed from the bottom with a heating pad. This keeps the rooting area warm and also causes more water on the bottom to evaporate, helping to keep humidity up. The water on the bottom evaporating also dries the cloning medium slowly, usually causing roots to reach out in search of the fading moisture. The lid of the cloning chamber is then propped open to regulate humidity and bring in some fresh air. Any cloning setup that can be warmed from the bottom will do best that way when the temperature is properly controlled. Obviously, techniques like aero-cloning and others can't be warmed from the bottom in the same way.

We just topped our last 3 clones, have one we just planted last night and one that should be rooted and ready to plant today. You're welcome to check out our system. https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/380606-sensi-seeds-mothers-finest-indoor-2.html
