Need help please.

Hello. First time grow here and need a little help. So I've been using rain water I collect to water my sproutling. The thing is I didn't realize the water ph was to high. It started to sprout and grow just fine no problems. Grew at a good pace, leaves popping up so on and so forth. So the last few days I noticed those two round baby leaves started yellowing. And the stem started this reddish purple colour. It's only a little bit along a few different stems. The leaves started a slight curl at the tips as well. So now today I noticed on one leaf that it started becoming a very prominent splotch of yellowing. The set of leaves above is lighter green but not yellow yet. So today I went out and got a soil oh test prove and I see I'm sitting at about 7.5 which I know is high. So I used the probe to test the water and it was sitting at about 7. I used ph down in the water and retested the water at about 5.7ish? It's not digital lol don't have that luxery round here unless I cough up atleast 100$. Anyways... So I used the water at 5.7ish ph to bring it down from 7.5. Hoping it brings it down enough. My question is, is this a lock out in the soil with the high ph? Did I lower the oh of the water enough to bring down the ph in the soil, and lastly how long does ph down take to have an actual effect on the soil itself? The people at the store recomended this nitrogen suppliment I mix in with water in a spray bottle and use on the leaves as if it were a clone so as to bring back some chlorophyll production in the plant directly while doing the oh down for better results. Is there any truth to that? I THINK the spray might be slightly working but not sure if it's the light playing tricks on my eyes. Leaves look slightly darker than before I started spraying the leaves directly with the nitrogen suppliment. Like not overly dark just barely better than that light nearly lime green I had. Any sort of help would be great. I'm about to post some pics as wellDSC_0451.JPG DSC_0453.JPG DSC_0451.JPG DSC_0453.JPG

Also, the yellowing in the baby leaves at the bottom you see, is slightly better than what it was even yesterday. But hasn't changed since. Maybe I'm not doing it right. Anyone want to take a few mins to write a step by step? Can't seem to find exact instructions online. Any help a out this would be sweet. Oh doesn't seem to have moved at all yet. But it's only been like an hour and a half.

Foliar feeding is the best way to introduce nutrients quickly
But like all growing nothing happens fast or overnight

Could you possibly tell me how to lower the oh in my soil by chance? Or no? Can't seem to find someone showing it..

I assume you mean PH?
I never lower mine below 7 in soil because my soil is mostly peat and my runoff is already plenty low with nutrients added

Leaves that are already damaged are almost impossible to just 'Fix' look at your new growth everyday to gauge how your plant is doing. Best advice we can really give as to how to best proceed.

Science is about adjusting variables and looking at the outcome. Growing is science, do to much to try and fix something and you end up changing to much too soon.

Cotelydons do yellow and fall off it’s not a huge issue I’m sure there’s not many people who haven’t lost them at some point. Water with ph adjusted water if you really must drop ph. WhT is the starting ph of the water?

Yeah I figured the yellow leaves were toast. But the purple stem and the other leaves just above the baby ones are getting light in colour. I notice yellow down the "vein" of some leaves barely starting as well. So those bottom ones should I just let them fall off or snip them off? Figured snipping would stress it so maybe not. Yeah any help going forward would be much appreciated :) thanks

Sorry missed where u said ph. Keep it at 7 going in, give a big flush of water and test the run off after you’ve observed atleast half of what you’ve put in come out. If you adjust too far down you lock out other nutrients in the soil and nitrogen becomes overly available. This will result in n toxicity which manifests as dark dark leaves.
Or your soils ph could be too high so even tho you’re using 7 going in your run off will be higher. This would maybe lock out nitrogen causing a deficiency which would purple stems and yellow leaves.

This is just theory, tbh I don’t think they look too bad until you see any symptoms I’ve described just take I easy and give urself a break for a few days. It’s easy to get stressed when ur a noob

Just leave the leaves, they fall off naturally. Or well, whither naturally, they are basically the first storehouse of nutrition for seedlings.

Sit tight, growing is about knowing how to be productively patient. Just keep us updated with picture every two or three days with what and when you've been feeding/watering. :peace:

Only thing I did was ph down a little in the water. Yeah I think you're right that it's a nitrogen lock out. I figured it's still to young to be using any nutrients persay. So I've not used any except for the nitrogen suppliment in water sprayed directly in the leaves and so on. Does look better than it did the other day though atleast. So lower it to 7? A ton of people on threads were saying 6.5. Just making Sure it wasn't a typo anywhere lol. Yeah I'll let her be for the most part the next few days and see what happens. Thanks for the help everyone. Lol yeah it's all a bit freaky when you're new to it if it does I can learn from this and redo a new one I'm sure.

Like how so? I've not started nutrients yet as I figured it's to young. It's only between 3-4 weeks old from seed. When do I start using veg nutrients?
