Need Help ON First Grow Indoors

I want to do my first indoor grow, I have been looking through the forums for a while and journals. I just want to get some outlooks from different perspectives. I want to use a 400 watt light. This should be efficient for 4 plants si. I want them to get huge, any suggestions on materials and tips on how to make them babies really pretty, all suggestions would be greatly used. I also want use like one of them stealth tents that have the exhaust for heat and comes with all the whistles and bells. So guys give me your help my ears are all yours for the taking. Lets make some huge plants, OOO one more thing I want to grow some dro or some exotic in general. Do I have to use hydrophonics and what seeds are best for a 3 to 4 month grow indoors. Basically I want someone to go from the beginning to the end that would be freakin AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Not trying to be rude but these two things do not go together.. 400 watters favor smaller compact plants.. due to their lack of penetration strength .. You would be better off going to a bigger light.. or lsting a couple plants with a large wide even canopy imo Good luck on your grow.. be careful.. itz addicting

well would 600 watt succeed in my plans?? I am trying to get a least a QP from the whole grow.

.5 -1 gram per a watt is average.. i would say .5 your first time .. you can definitely get that with the 400.. but smaller plants or lst'd plants would be better then trees.. If you grow really tall plants... you will get a bunch of nice buds at the top.. then tons of small popcorn airy buds at the bottom .. since they wont get any light.

well I didn't necessarily mean trees something like 4 ft tall max with tons of bud sites. Tat would rock, what kind of strains do you recommend for my first indoor grow. I don't want to use bagseeds, I mean literally some buckin dank or dro. Is 3-4 months in the time frame for some bud like that??

your gonna probably wanna grow a indica dom stain.. they have shorter flowering periods... Im not sure on big yielders.. I dont really grow for yield.. more for just what I like...Only pure indica I have grown is Hindu kush .. its a really easy plant to grow.. Critical mass and big bud are others I have heard produce well.. If you get a good 8 week strain.. that will give you a month or 2 to sprout and veg em .. that should get you well over QP in 4 months.. must train em right and fill your grow area with a nice even canopy. A 400 is good for a 2x2sq ft or 3x3sq ft area if you want solid nugs and good results. Also it can take a while on here to get answers.. just be patient.. if your not patient.. then dont even attempt to grow.. the last month of staring at big juicy buds is gonna kill ya lol

Ok just found these seeds online would these babies be something that I could work with a 400 watt or 600 watt light and produce up to at least a QP from the whole grow. I found these seeds on attitude barneys farm G13 Haze Feminized. Any info???

I know nothing about that strain.. but from reading about it .. seems like it would be something that could get ya where ya wanna be... maybe some other members on here have grew it personally ... I might just order some myself lol

I think I have the whole concept of what I am doing now the question is am I right? I get my materials start off on veg state how long should I do the lights in veg? And depending on the seeds I get, regularly basis how long would u veg for b4 going into flower process. Now another huge thing is I want to get one of them tents that come with the bells and whistles do you think they would also provide the nutes and all tat good stuff. And what size pots should I use?

With the use of LED Lights it eliminates the heat and saves tons of money on electricity. 300w LED light is comparable to 1000w MH/HPS

Comon guy 300 watt LED comparable to a 1000 watt I dont know about all that! How much would one of those cost if that was the case??

most people take 600watt,and you also need to pay attention to the frame and soil quality

well glad to see your starting on your way. as for the tents, ebay has great tents from suppliers for less than 1/4 the price of hydro shops or magazines. they are the same thing, but you may have to outfit it yourself. you need a fan that can remove all the air from the tent in about five minutes just check the cfm ( cubic feet per min) and compare it to the volume (length x width x height) of your grow tent. a 400w will be fine to start with but if you get serious your gonna want to upgrade to a 600w, once you get to 1000w in those tents heat can become an issue so unless your a seasoned grower id stick with 600w.
you dont need to grow hydro to get those dank ass buds in fact its easier to grow organically in soil which will definately give you some killer sticky dank. but it takes a bit of experience to mix good soil, try out SUBCOOLS Super soil mix (google it) many people use fox farm soil and feed fox farm nutrients like tiger bloom with great results. personally i love hydroponics its not really that hard to build your own deep water culture set up with some plastic tubs and an air pump, you can buy everything at wal-mart, the only thing is you need a full hydroponic nutrient solution (i use canna nutrients with great result) and you need to monitor the ph daily. since your starting out i recomend using soil as it allowes for more mistakes. but you can always add a single hydro plant in a five gallon bucket to your grow tent and learn from that.
as for how long to veg, it depends on the size plant you want, remember when flowering is induced by changing your light photoperiod to 12hrs on and 12hrs of your plant will double maybe tripple in size in the first two or three weeks, most people flower there plants at 8 to 12 inches.
if you want only 4 massive plants use at least 5 gal pots maybe 7 or 10 gallon pots, the bigger the pot the bigger the root system and the bigger the plant
you want your lights on for at least 18hrs and off for 6 hrs while there vegging and then you switch to 12hrs on and 12 hrs off for flowering
i dont know much about that strain, but haze is usually sativa dominant and would not be a good plant to grow indoors under a smaller light, that strain is prob different but i dont know. you may try a kush strain like og or bubba kush as those are very popular on the east coast northern lights is an indica that is very easy to grow for beginers.
since your new dont focus so much on the end product, asking your plants for a qp at first may be a bit much, but after you get your thumb a bit greener and get your strain down youll pull a hp no problem
just keep it simple, dont think that by dousing your plants with nutes they will jump up over night, instead they may die, give them less than it says, you can always add a little more but you cant really get it out easily. be patient and focus on the plants well being, not the dollar signs.

I have been doing some research and saw that indica's are the way to go if u want to do indoors. I kno bro, im not going to get to greedy with the grams but anything is better then nothing. I do have some soil already. Actually 2 bags. They are at work so I can tell what they are 2mro. So do you consider attitude seeds to be a good source (Namith024) i have seen a lot of people using this for a seed bank.

The thing with LED's you have to remember is they work like lasers. Instead of the light shining on/over the plant, the LED's have hundreds of lights beaming directly into the plant. They're more expensive than the mh/hps but you save money on electricity, actually it's alot of money. Having one 300w LED is equivalent to a television running. Also, you are right, the 300w isn't compared to 1000w mh/hps. It's 800w-1000w mh/hps.

hey man... i'm really happy to hear how excited you are about all this. I actually am growing a few feminized auto-flower bubbalicious seeds from nirvana. I can vouch for them and they are great. my plants just can't stop growing.

You seem like the type of person to put germinate your seeds before getting the perfect environment for your babies...

I'll break it down as simple as my brain can accomplish catered towards what enlightenment i believe you are seeking.

So you're going to need a $400-$500 budget for this...
I have a lot of questions but I'm going to assume a lot of things and hopefully I'm right.

You should definitely stick with 400 Watt light.. if you can get one with a Cool Tube reflector hood. A COOL TUBE IS A MUST for indoor growing. **GREAT TIP: angle a small fan blowing towards your light towards your exhaust fan (5 degrees differences)**

Figure out your dimensions of how big you want ur tent to be and get it. It would be AWESOME if you had a window / AC / Portable AC / DIY AC to help with heat...it WILL be an issue.

Also you want to get a REALLY CHEAP Humidifier from salvation army
Get a temperature + humidity monitor in one. they r pretty cheap like $12-15 all over the web (i got mine from amazon i think, along with most of my shit AND Ebay).
Keep temp's at 75-82 if it gets to 86 or more that's bad and you need to ask for help or figure something out. the RH (Relative humidity) should be 60% during veg and 30-40% during flower.

You want to get great dirt. I forgot the name of what I got but it was very organic shit. It is VERY important to have a good dirt medium with the RIGHT nutrients.. I question your soil..what did you get and what % of NPK is there?

you will need to look into making a DIY ONA bucket http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jQv_-hbXok for SMELL..pretty cheap and Very effective.. fuck getting/making a air scrubber

5 gallon buckets are plenty for you man. and concerning seeds.... don't skimp out if you want the best bud...and also get a sativa/indica mix...indica is all body high.. i love the head high (sativa).. i think you do too.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK NUTRIENTS BRO!!!!!!!!! don't fuck with it. just don't... not until your second grow. IF ANYTHING get something like bat guano for flowering. you just spread it across the top of your soil medium and water it...but just don't do it in my opinion.. i burnt and killed 3 of my plants first time and i thought i was doing it right.... just chill on it. esp if you got good seeds!

You will need to get a decent $30 exhaust fan in my opinion... at least 3 times more than the air you need to exchange. if your room is 3ft long x5ft high x 3ft depth then your room will need at LEAST a 45cfm fan. You want to get an inline fan (which is blowing air into the tent while simultaneously sucking new air from outside in) probably at least 2x what you need to be safe...CAUSE IT GETS HOT!

You are going to get flexible ducting ... like $15

WATER: whatever water you're going to use... make sure it's left out for a day or two.. all the shit you don't want in ur water dies out or whatever.

Really basic shit on the timeline on growing and how it should be done:::
1. put ur seeds in a damp paper towel and put into a zip lock bag and shut it to hold moisture (should take 24/48hrs)
2. when the root is 1/4" then put into 12 oz red cups or whatever with at least 3 holes on the bottom (good drainage is vital) **TIP: water your soil and drain the water before putting in germinated seed**
3. after 1 week transplant into 3gallon buckets...uhm u should youtube this..its really simple but u can kill ur girls if you fuck it up so do it while ur not high lol
4. then after 1 month or 1.5 months transplant into 5 gallon bucket and LET THEM FUCKING GROW!!! they will get to be as tall as you within 3 months...and know this..when you put ur lights on a flowering 12/12 schedule ur plant will still grow 50-70% higher BEWARE ! haha it's awesome
5. you should start flowering 2 weeks into transplanting into 5 gallon buckets (in my opinion) UNLESS you see pistols...then you flower immediately by turning your lights to 12hrs on/ 12hrs off..but in the beginning when vegging the plant, make sure to leave ur lights on 24hrs a day or least 18hrs
6. curing and harvesting i'm not an expert at yet i'll be honest... look it up and ull find all the info in the world but you shouldn't worry about it yet

you're biggest concern is making sure you don't get ahead of urself. you probably got a lot to learn yo! I kno i did.

Just make sure to get your tent. Get your fans, RH/TEMP gadget, get your light on, cool tube working well through ur ducting (unless your place is really cool like 68-70 degrees naturally), your soil, buckets, DUCT TAPE, and seeds...........before you germinate ur seeds make sure to have it all SET UP.. trust me your plants will be so much more healthy if you FIRST create the environment and prove that it will be perfect for a day then germinate.. germinating only takes a day usually so be motha fuckin patient and you will be a grow master.
