Need help identifying early

Hello.

I am in week 4 of flowering two different strains. I am using subs super soil and watering with RO and 1tsp per gallon of cal-mag and have occasionally added 1 tsp of azamax for my gnat problem. My Cindarella 99, which is sativa dominant, has been showing signs of a spreading dark spots on some of the leaves. This is something that I may have noticed a while back on some of the lower leaves, but just today I noticed it on some medium-height leaves and an increasing number of them. Any ideas of what it could be?

So it looks kind of like little dark spots forming in groups at the edges/tips of the leaves mostly. Here's a pic of the top flower which shows a couple of the hairs turning orange...I'm not sure if this is natural / due to the fact that the plant is a little close to the light right now / the same cause as the leaves....Can anyone help?20140514_151225.jpg

I dont know how it could be nute burn as im not really adding any nutrients. I did, however, add 1 tsp of azamax to the gallon of water yesterday and about 10-12 days before that. Is it possible this could just be from azamax? I only add 1 tsp of cal-mag per gallon as well....Mature plants don't usually all of a sudden show signs of nutrient burn when you haven't recently transplanted or added any nutrients, right?

Also, I should mention the water did turn milky when I added the azamax and the cal-mag together in the gallon of water. Is it possible these two are producing a chemical reaction???

Is the super soil bought in bag or homemade with subs recipe? Sub has stated resently on weednerd that the store bought bags arent working as they should so hes gone back to mixing his own again. I think he said something about them going cheap on a few ingredients and not letting it sit long enough due to demand.

I know you said you are running RO but what is your PH going in at and are you testing it before watering or feeding? Appears to be a ph issue. Imo this is not nutrient burn.

I made my soil with his recipe and let it cook for a month. my pH with 1 tsp calmag is usually about 6.7-6.8.

by the way, how much calmag do you guys recommend at weeks 4+ in flower?

Drop your ph to 5.8-6.2 for your water, ph drifts up further along in flowering as the nutes are being used up.(in soil and hydro) I guessing u don't flush because you use supersoil, I use it and I don't flush it but I do keep my water ph as close to 6.0 as possible. Just my opinion though.

I think your plants are looking pretty sweet mate so keep up the good work.

pH the water going in to 6.5......Don't bother pHing the run off as you'll only get the pH of the run off. Soil self pH's! Organic grows do this best! Soil will swing up in pH when you water and swing back down as it dries back out......I would not pH to below 6.3
The chance that you have a pH problem is almost non existent.

If you added Dolomite lime in the proper amounts as directed......I would not add any more then 2.5 -3ml per gallon.

The leaf issue.....I might say that it's a tick hot for the Sativa......did you "layer" the soil in concentrations like Sub? Could be it.....Kinda looks like a slight P issue....I know your going organic.....But if you can find an "organic" silica, you might consider using that a bit. As that can help regulate the uptake of P and "temper" the P to more of the plants liking.

Sativa's can be quite fussy feeders.....At any rate if you do nothing and the problem does not stop or slow down,,,,consider the use of silica of any type....Keep in mind that soil will not show any "correction" for 5-7 days. The damage of that type will not heal or return to normal.....just stop the problem from continuing.

What are you guys using to adjust your pH for these organic soil grows?

The reason I'm having a hard time believing the soil is hot is because the plant has been in this pot for probably about 2 months now. It's only a 5 gallon pot. I would assume it would have gotten the nutrient burn sooner, don't you think?

could improper amounts of calmag be the problem? I need to take a pic of my calmag label because it's really confusing...
@Dr.Who
When you say P, you're thinking i might be low on phosphorous? I have no understanding of silica....What exactly would you recommend and how would I apply it?

Hey guys, maybe this update will clear things up....maybe not lol

So first of all, here's a pic of my VERY CONFUSING cal-n-mag label.

Can anyone tell me what the hell the difference is between "Grow" "Bloom" "Micro" and "Cal-n-Mag"??? It doesnt clarify anywhere on the bottle and I just want to know what the proper amount to supplement is!

Here's some more pics of the first plant I showed, I don't know if I'm crazy or not but the stems appear to be much more red than they were before:

And here are some pictures of my Aurora Indica, which has some similar symptoms on just the lower leaves20140515_134520.jpg

I'd like to get that cal-n-mag supplement dosage figured out because I have a feeling it has something to do with that....

Thanks for all input

Ignore the grow, bloom,micro that is the other 3 additives they have. that is if you are doing the complete line of thier product. you only care about formula and cal-mag parts. Its a 12 week system, week 1 (first set of true leaves or when ever you start feeding) use .25 tsp a gallon, the next 3-4 weeks or however long you veg you use 1.75tsp a gallon. Then you switch to flower and for the first 3-4 weeks of flower you use 1.50 tsp a gallon, and the following 3-4 weeks you use 1.25 a gallon, you will use this until harvest or if you flush before you harvest stop using it then.

If you don't use the same veg/flower times then just adjust accordingly

Week 1 .25tsp Seedling (big enough for nutes)
Weeks 2-4 1.75tsp Veg growth
Weeks 5-8 1.50tsp Start flower to middle of flower
Weeks 8-12 1.25tsp Middle of flower to harvest or final flush

@sgtjayne Thanks alot!

I don't know why I didn't consider that... but that information helps me out! I had just been giving them 1tsp per gallon this whole time. Do you have any opinion on if that appears to be the problem?

No I really don't think that the cal-mag caused any problems, 95% of the time if the problem is cal-mag then it is a deficiency not a overdose. Idk if I've ever actually seen a plant with too much cal-mag though.

Peace
