need help how many fluroescent t5 tubes will i need for 6 to 10 plants

I'm going 6-8 weeks from seed in veg under T5s. I have two 8 tubes side by each.

I top once at 3 weeks and then again at 6 weeks. If I top at 6 weeks I end up hardly fitting three under a single 8 tube unit. If I don't top at 6 weeks I can fit four under each unit.

I end up with about a 2.5 x 1.5 plant going into flower room depending on the strain.

Bluntz... I'm thinking of turning that veg room into a SOG or SCROG under both T5s and getting a smaller tent for my main veg/bloom operation. I haven't played with autos yet but I'm seriously interested in them for a few reasons.
