How were you determined to be intoxicated? Was there a sobriety test? Was there a blood draw?

The Supreme Court recently ruled in State v Koon that without objective proof of intoxication, the Medical Marijuana Act permits patients to have consumed it before driving. He got off the hook altogether despite that he had active THC in his system. If your case is similar enough, there is Supreme Court precedent that can do the same for you.

Edited to say that it is impairment that must be proved, rather than intoxication (which nonetheless has no objective means to determine).

Dunno what happened with Matt in Larry King's case, but it appears that he was asleep at the wheel and let more than a year elapse without Larry's Supreme Court ordered sec. 8 hearing. No explanation why has been forthcoming. It is an attorney's responsibility to poke the court with a cattle prod if necessary to move things along. If things have been improperly, or even properly, handled by Matt, an explanation is required to demonstrate that good faith and fiduciary duty were or were not met with.

There are other attorneys who do a great job. Among them are Jon Targowski, Daniel Grow, and Michael Kormon. There are others.

I'd go with him based on his name alone

I might. Dunno. I've met the guy and he does have a large public persona. To his credit he has participated in of a lot of activist events (my hat is off to him for his testimony before the City of Saginaw which, accompanied by many people with cogent arguments, dissuaded the city from prohibiting use), and has worked behind the curtain in our behalf.

The King case has me wondering what went on there. For all I know, things were handled properly, or not. It might be a question the OP should ask, if Matt were to be considered.

Yea i gave Matt office a call today. Didn't get a chance to speak with him they referred me to another attorney. I think they might be out my price range he will like a thousand dollar each appearance even if it get adjourned to another date. I will try Micheal kormon not trying to be cheap.

I also know Matt Abel and he Won our case back in 2009 very good Lawyer i would say and just because some one wants to know about said Case (Larry's King) IMO it is none of any ones business
but Larry's and Matt's

i also know Larry and he has been to our court hearings a few times he does not get the support he needs from many and we didn't ether if we could have supported him more and us also maybe things wouldn't be as they are today if we could of filled the court room for him or us some people still think it can't happen to them until it does then they come running for support from others

i get call's from people all the time after they are raided i ask them where have you been for almost 5 years IMHO you have to give support to get it but i will tell them i will support them anyway because i can't turn them away it's just who i am

We where in Court for over 4 + years and we where Legal all the way under plant count locked up and under 2.5 oz of Meds as you all know we where the first Patients in Mich. to be raided and got little support if it want for the MMMA and

  • Michael Kormon & David Rudoi, Rob Mullen, Matt Abel, ACLU, and Mr. Rockind, and i am sure there are a few more that helped with our case

we would be in Jail today
Me and Torey were facing 14 years in jail and a One Million dollar fine for both of us and they got it down to a misdemeanor with non-reporting probation for 6 month
