need help Driver Replacement Advanced LED Grow Lamp 360 W

I have 2 of these lamps, and on one of them, 1/3 of the LED's are out, and they have been since I bought these lights off craigslist. I have diagnosed the problem and its the driver. (i disconnect it and connect it to one of the other 3 and the diodes light up.

I need to find a new driver for it and I dont have any idea of the input/ output current I have multi meters can someone tell me how to test the working drivers.

120V going to each driver, not sure out to test much else need help. Drivers have no identifying marks on them.

It isn't too hard to figure this out but first things first. Have you called/emailed Advanced and asked them if they will sell you a new driver? They probably have one for sale. Blackstar sells replacement drivers, I can't imagine Advanced not doing that too.

light was bought off craigslist, i bought 2 and one of them had 1/3 diodes out and tried calling to warranty it but didnt ask about driver's i wasn't that experienced electronically then, but now that I am and I know its just the driver so i suppose its worth a shot. however it wont be the most affordable when i could prob ebay it. full working fixure 185watts 1.5amp fixture with 1/3 out = 125watts 1.01amps so each 1/2 pulls approx 60W and .5 amp. Can you convert this info into a driver?

Called them, they are douche's told me I was gonna burn down my house by trying to replace the driver. After I called them douches and hung up they called me back to try and prevent me from flaming them on the internet but they still didn't sell me a driver or tell me what kind im looking for. So i'm still in square one, wanting to test the currents and not knowing how.

Did you talk to Kyle, the owner of advanced?I can't believe they wouldn't sell you a driver! Wtf

Did you tell them you where an RIU member? Seems all pretty stupid on their part IMO.

Since i bought the lights thru a 3rd party (off craigslist like 18 months ago) and I don't have the guys information they won't help me. its kind of unreasonable when your product is supposed to last for 5+ years, people are bound to sell them lol

Im not sure if it was kyle, but i feel like that was his name..

If you take a working driver and plug it into the string that is not lighting up, is the string still dead or does it light? If the dead string still does not light up with a good working driver you likely have only one diode burnt out in that string. Diodes fail way more often than drivers do. Also, if it is a driver you need just count the number of leds in the string and multiply by 3 to determine what voltage driver you need. The average voltage draw per diode for a Chinese multi-spectrum grow light is ~3 volts. 40 diodes will need a 120v output driver. Most Chinese 3w diodes are run at about 600ma. So, if you do need a driver and if there are 40 diodes in the string, look for one that makes at least 120v @600ma for driving 40 diodes (1/3 of your 360w light). I've seen and repaired well over a dozen Chinese made led grow lights and only seen one fried driver. When they burn, they smell burnt.

Unfortunately, AdvancedLEDGrow is not the same as AdvancedLEDLights... the former is a chinese company. If you tried calling AdvancedLEDLights, that may have been why they were upset...

Yeah , that's why I post those pictures to let people know that those looking good products ,work well for a short time , but after few months , failed ,you need time and money to replace them 。 Maybe the products are easy to replace , but you have to spend time and money on it and the manufacturers have already made the money from you .

I would call back and threaten file a claim at the BBB!!!..................works most of the time. It's absolutely unreasonable for them not to SELL you a driver for THEIR panel.

Also if they still say no, tell them you'll start a thread in every grow forum about their shitty customer service..

I can understand advancedledlights not wanting to service the light under warranty since there's no way for them to confirm the age of the light or whether its even from them or from advancedledgrow.

But not sure what their reason is for not wanting to sell you a driver. I've always had excellent customer service from advancedledlights.

Do the drivers inside the unit have any writing or labels that might clue into what you need as a replacement? I'm assuming not since you probably would have mentioned it.

I'd run with mechmike's advice if nothing else can be done.

my driver is def fried. I tested the string with a working driver from the panel. how could i test the drivers output, I trust you but wanna learn.

You're going to need to measure the voltage of the circuit and the mA output of the driver when it's on. You have a halfway decent multimeter right? And what model panel is this anyway? Before we electrocute you, maybe we can figure it out on the net :).

360W it has 7 rows of 17 led's 119 diodes lol a good jolt never hurt. if you look into the LED's there are 3 mini diodes in each one leading me to believe each is a 3w diode.

So before you do this, make sure some people recheck my work. I'm typing this in the middle of a barbecue.

OK voltage test. Set mmeter to Vdc 2000m or 200m, power on LED and place probes were the circuit wires are for one of the circuits that is on. That reading is the forward voltage and that is the minimum voltage you need to power the circuit. Next is tougher and I'm a little fuzzy on it, but you should set the multimeter to ADC 20m or 200m. Then you either need to jump the circuit you did the voltage test on and read the output from the jump or there should be an exposed part where the DC output of the driver connects to the circuit and you should be able to get a reading that way.

If they're really 3 chips in each LED you may want to rethink using it. Those aren't very good diodes for growing actually. Good for lighting up a sign but not so much for growing. Also the current is probably below 600mA as it's very hard to run 1 watt chips that close to each other without massive cooling. 530, maybe 580.

Anyway don't do shit till I or someone checks this all out. And if you can find a picture of it on the net, or take some, it may really help. Someone I know might have one laying around.

I am in the same situation GRAPEOPTIMO, needing a replacement driver for the extreme flower 360. I also contacted Advanced LED, spoke with Kyle and he told me he's not going to sell or tell me what driver is in Extreme Flower 360 watt? Extremely terrible customer service if you ask me! After plugging and unplugging the different rows this is how I found out that yes it is the driver that is the problem. There is 6 drivers on the inside along with 6 fans. Leads me to believe that they could be 50 watt drivers then 10 watts per fan equaling 360 watts. Like stated above there is no indicating markings on the driver itself to let you know what it is? I would love to find out where I could replace the drivers for this extreme Flower 360 LED. I would Stay FAR AWAY from advancedled.com if you're looking to buy any form of LED lighting! Considering that I'm going through the exact same experiences as GRAPEOPTIMO!
