Need help deciding on which led strips to use

I'm looking to light a 4x4 area with a fairly tight budget, was looking at quantum boards but since I don't live in the USA the shipping costs are a bit pricey..

So ive been looking at the Samsung F series strips but unsure which ones im supposed to be looking for lol...as they have so many different model numbers I get a bit confused..

or these strips from Cutter.com with Cree 3030 led chips https://www.cutter.com.au/proddetail.php?prod=cut3401 wich are really cheap and look really good for a diy build with Cree 3030's being around 185l-195l/per watt.

what im wondering is, what would be the better option out of these two for a 4x4 area, both strips are pretty identical im guessing but what does everyone else think?

Just did some calculations to figure out the cost per diode between strips and boards. The Sammy 301B is cheapest per diode in an HLG board, but not by a lot. I can't say how shipping might affect you either way.

I would not limit myself to those two choices.

I would suggest the BC blondes gamechanger 680 for a 4x4. I just bought one and am waiting for it to arrive. Ill post pics when it does

There doesnt seem to be a better option for pre built fixtures with a proper warranty. I paid $1199 Canadian which worked out to be $973 USD with shipping.

THe guy at bc blondes even gave me a full nutrient recipe and told me i can call him any time if i have plant problems.

the hlg and plc and timber stuff seems way over priced.

If you are going DIY then i cant help much, i needed/wanted a pre built rig.

looks like that's just two qb288 slate 3 kits from hlg with some fans on it.

at first I thought prices were no better but then realized they’re in CA lol
Question tho
If I wanted just 2 of these SI-B8U201B20US
Would I just drive them with a hlg 100h 48b driver?
You could, but at full power you are overdriving that design by more than 100%. The chips would probably be ok, but may have shorter life unless you can keep them cool somehow.

Your Q22 strips are 16s X 5p. The Sammy 301B diodes can handle .18A max current according to the datasheet. With your driver at 2A output, each diode would get 2A/5P/2 strips=.2A, just over max but you should still be OK, just be sure to mount on some aluminum channel and blow air over them.

Am I missing something? Aren't those the 4 ft version?

I manufacture my own printed circuit boards (one of the ways i keep costs down), they are not from hlg and can not be bought any where else but inside one of my fixtures. 960 lm301b's on each 340 watt panel. 3rd party testing will be done soon to show total output and efficiency.

Ugh I don’t quite understand lol
I also have an extra hlg 240h c1050a driver
Could I use it and dim it all the way?
If not what driver would you recommend?
