Yeah, 50w is indeed a bit on the high side but you can always dimm it if needed.
Actually 55.000lx is not too much, IMO its actually right on spot and from what I've seen from the SunCloak, sidelights can help a lot to increase your g/sft yields.
50w/sft from above could be too much @14-18" but with well distributed strips and even with sidelights too, I would say, its okay and will grow you some well stocked side shoots and lots of main colas. Only make sure too feed them girls enough and try to hold the day temps around 80-83°F and above 65°F at night.

I actually have a set of Gen 1 EB series, 3000K, 15x 560mm running on an HLG 240H-C700B, on a 30" long frame right now, only 4-5" above the canopy of 4 ladies, they're handling 65000+ lux, and haven't had any bleaching....The flower development is remarkable.....

Also why not the HLG-240H-20B that will give you around 50w a max per square feet.
I would go with 15 or 18 one foot strips. That's just me.

For my first light (Thank you ledgardener for the 'Bridgelux Gen. 2 BXEB-L0560Z1′ LED Strip Build – 2’x2′) but I would love another but with more strips! I want to go with 15 but I'm not sure about the wiring...
Can you help a fellow Closet Gardener?

I would like to make another light but this time with 15 instead of 12 strips...

Same q for you... How do you have it wired? Would it be the same for the Gen 2 series?

I had that particular light wired in series, only because I already had the CC driver available. Its possible to do it that way, but working with voltages that high (300V+) on drivers that size, brings the possibility of a FATAL mistake into the picture, so most (including all my future builds) will be wired in parallel with CC/CV drivers....

The Gen2 have a slightly lower FV, so theyre not any different really, just a little better....
If you want to light up in series, you'd have to use the same driver I listed, which I DO NOT recommend....

Like Canadian Closet Gardener suggested, the HLG-240H-20 would be around the same total wattage, but with 20v constant voltage, for parallel wiring.

I'm assuming you used this guide to build your 2x2 light?

Just use the build and wiring diagram for the 3x3

I ordered the parts for this and after the fact ran #'s on my original light (2'x2'), along with the 2'x4', and 3'x3'.
Funny both the 2'x4' and 3'x3' come in at the same #. Makes me glad I didn't do the modular approach and just add more of my 2'x2' builds. ~34 more lumens per $ is a smile. Thank you!
