Need Ballast Help !

So I just bought 1000w hortilux hps and lumatek 1000 electronic ballast...here is my question on the ballast there is a knob that goes from 400 600 1000 and super can i interchange bulbs out with the same ballast? or will it take my 1000W and give it less power?..

also how much heat will the electronic ballast bring my 8 x 8 x 7 room?

the ballast you got is a "dimmable" one!! yes you can adjust the wattage according to grow needs!! in an 8x8 it shouldnt make too much heat! on average the run about 100F degrees in the summer depending on where u at!!

...the lower the wattage of bulb, the lower amount of btu's put off (heat). You have a "digital" ballast, and as you say, you can switch the bulb's with your ballast. If heat becomes an issue, use a 400 watt. If you can take the heat, the higher the watts, the bigger the buds.

You can dim the 1000w bulb or use different wattage bulbs with that ballast.

You are also going to need a lot more light than a single 1000w in an 8x8 space. Hope you plan on sectioning off the room or getting more lights and ventilation to cool all of them.

have an 8 inch max fan and radiant 8 daystar ac hood...eventually gonna add another light hood...the guy at the shop says i can only use 1000w bulb and would have to buy another bulb and ballast to lower the bulb wattage. co confused

Also what about the heat im at the point where i need to either place it on my control board or take it outside my room

i would personally take it out of the room!! and the "guy at the shop" is a re re(retard)!! dont listen to him!!

P.S. That ballast will barely get warm.

I ran a 1000 hortilux at the 600 setting by accident one day. Not sure if it was actually running at 600 watts or not, but it worked.

Turn that shit up to Super Lumens and keep the 1k!

ok good to know if i add another hood im gonna switch to 600 and i know now i have a ballast capabale to do it already..
