need auto advice

So i bought a cheap piece of crap car to get to work. I paid 500 for it and got the pink slip earlier this month. Never done this before and i didnt get a smog certificate or the registration.
Im barely getting around to registering it and also my seasonal job is coming to an end and i cant afford to do all.this at the moment.

Can i sell a car without registering it first? Is it legal? In cali btw

Trade it for a couple of zips of smoke.

i would think of 500$ of a headache a bus pass or a bike would be easier to get to work with

Might just throw it up on Craigslist for like 300 as is with pink only. It was a stupid mistake im just concerned about getting in trouble for selling it before i register it.

we all make stupid mistakes mate.

fuck that put 800 on the sale price

I have sold cars I didn't register.
Did a bill of sale and had a title signed by the previous owner.
Just be clear with the buyer

I have also had people not register the vehicle after buying it from me then ditch it.
I got the tow bill.
Be sure you send in the sellers report.
release of interest if possible.
At least have the buyer sign something stating that he bought the car just in case

if the title is clear then u can sell the car..........but odds are u have a title that already has been filled in and need to register it to get a new one that u can fill in to sell to the person u want
(before u try to sell it u might think about contacting a scrap/parts yard ......u might get your 500 back out of it just doing that) that is less work

u can post it on criags list tell the person the story ......give them the old title and let them change there name in it and register it (but if the title is not clear ie loans/leans on the car) they will not beable too and they will come after u for refund

Is there a way to check if the titles clean?
