Need advice

So I just harvested and I plan to use the bud and leaf to make butter. My question is how long do I need to let the bud and leaf dry before I throw it into my food proceser??? Or does it even need to dry since I'm not going to be smoking it?

i made some butter last night and let it simmer in a pyrex bowl on top of a pot of water on low for about 3-4 hours, then strain with cheese cloth. came out pretty good.

At least one week in a dry environment.

A good healthy alternative to butter is to make infused olive oil which ends up having very little taste of the dry product when used for cooking. Get an old crock pot. Take 3.5 cups of olive oil, 2 cups of water and 70 grams of trim, bud, used vaporizer product - barely ground up in a coffee grinder (DO NOT GRIND IT INTO POWDER!!!).

Set the crock pot on low and simmer for 22 hours - yes, 22 hours, but NEVER any longer. This will completely activate the THC from the dry product. Any longer and the THC will over cook and be useless.

After you have cooked it for the 22 hours, strain with a cheese cloth placed inside a common kitchen strainer into Tupperware or any plastic container. This can take some time and you'll have to mash it through. Place the container in the freezer overnight. When you take it out, you'll notice that you'll have two layers - the top is the oil and the bottom is the frozen water which will be dark brown. Pop it out and take a knife to give it a couple of whacks and the ice cube should fall off. Now you have infused olive oil which you can either keep frozen for at least three months or in the fridge for a couple of weeks.

A half cup of oil for 12-18 servings of what you make, depending on how strong you make it, should be to the liking of most chronic patients!

Hope this helps!
