I'm planning on using the "auto pot" system, this is my first time trying to grow and I've made a bit of a boo boo!
I started off with seeds and germinated them fine. I put the germinated seeds into 1" rockwool cubes which had been pre-soaked in ph 5.0 water for around 24 hours.
The seedling popped through and had its first set of fan leafs (after 3 days). I then made a mixture of canna coco and perlite around a 70/30 mix. This is where I think I've made my mistake, I actually mixed my canna coco and perlite by hand and then filled my 11 litre pots 4/5 full with the mixture. I then filled my pots with water and allowed it to drain for around 20 mins, Finally I added in my rockwool and seedling and topped the pots up with my mix of coco and perlite.
Now I've been reading some forum posts and other stuff online, I think I was first supposed to put around 2 litres of perlite into the bottom of my pots to line them, and then fill up the rest with pure canna coco, is this correct?
If this is the case how would you suggest I fix the problem? Also, should I try fixing this problem right away or should I let the plants grow a little more? They have been in these pots for just over 24 hours of me making this post.
I'm really looking forward to getting some advice from the pros!!
