need advice for exhausting room

newbie here preparing for the future, I've been brainstorming but could use your input!

room is temp controlled with dedicated ac/heat pump, two 4x8x6 (hlg 550x2 [LED] in each) occupy most of the space; ideally i'd like the ability to run the exhausts of these tents into the existing hole in the ceiling and out through a gable vent. Each tent would use its own fan and ducting, then attach to a wye (Y connection) to be led through the ceiling in one single duct. I'm guessing I'd be ok with 8" fan on each tent with the highest cfm i can find with adjustable speed controller but if someone has something specific they can suggest that would be great. I'll probably have to run an additional fan thru the ducting to get everything moving towards the outside vent weather i cut additional holes or not.

Questions:
1) Any suggestions on the type of air flow and size fans I'll need to make this happen?
2) Is it ok to run an additional carbon filter on the merged exhaust line?

Your exhaust ducting plan seems doable.

Are you doing a sealed room, with tents inside? Occasional exhausting or constant?

yes sealed room with tents; I'm not much of a handyman lol

the plan is to master the scrog technique due to height restrictions but I don't have all of that figured out yet; most likely the exhaust is constant due to very short veg times or flowering only

Typically basic sealed rooms do not exhaust.....the air is recirculated by the AC.....fans for airflow. (Co2 capable)

Your tents would exhaust into the room.

Some have reason to exhaust at intervals or lights off, etc.

I run a lil 4x8x8 sealed with window AC. No exhausting.

You are exhausting lights-out humidity then I assume? And using the climate controlled tent room as a "lung room" to maintain tent temps? Your exhaust fans in each tent could double duty as part time high temp exhaust (in case the mini split can't keep up), and night time humidity exhaust. As long as you leave an intake port open on each tent. If employing a carbon filter your better off to situate it inside the flower tent at the point of exhaust connected to your inline fan. You will get maximum performance locating it here. You would need an inline style carbon filter (pricey) in order to place at the Y and it may not operate as efficiently as it should. Hyperfans (inline) are a lil pricey but absolutely worth it IMHO. Nice and quiet, built in speed control, energy efficient too. An economy inline will absolutely do the job as well. 4x8x6 ya say? Your fan needs to handle 200 cu.feet of air say 3x a minute would be plenty so a 600 cfm inline fan is way more than enough. 6" hyperfans can push alot of air a long way.
How far to your Gable vent?
 
I read your post closer lol! You shouldn't need an additional c filter if you have one in flower room already. If you're really concerned about smell make sure to oversize your carbon filter a little bit get it for more cfm's then your inline fan and keep your pre-filter clean.

How far to your Gable vent?
my thinking is filter > exhaust> out on each tent, both ducts into a Y, that Y with a possible inline fan out to gable, maybe on the exit could be another filter, I just read so many mixed reviews and figure two is better than one. This distance would be approximately 10ft total from the tents. 600cfm for the main exhaust per tent, still 6"? i always thought there needed to be fresh air coming in for the co2 to take place, if im not adding external co2 i'm thinking this original setup makes the most sense; going to reply further in a second

with no experience at all i'm still assuming because its only LED that i will most likely need to use heat instead of AC during the winter given I have all the seasons, will that affect this recirculation scenario at all? what if i am not using co2? my thought was fresh air was needed for the co2. I'm guessing I could keep the "fan" part of the central air/heat on year-round. it does have a return vent in the wall in the corner basically. I know you said fans were essential. I'm guessing with fans blowing air all over the place eventually the air from the tent will make its way to the return, would you run any ducting towards it? any exhaust fans at all in the tent if doing this recirculating setup?
