I've just been reading about how HLG QB 135 how high to seeds, and I saw 4k and 3k now I might of just read more into it than I should but does the QB 135 come ready to just light or do I need to lower a setting or something, I haven't a clue.

I’m not sure if it’s dimmable. If it’s not then you’ll have to play with the hanging height to adjust your light output levels. How big is the veg space?

It's only a converted airing cupboard 2foot by 2 foot by 5 foot high

At the moment my seedlings are 18 inches away from light.

I would definitely raise that up. I would probably say 3 feet if you’re unable to dim the 135. I have a 4x2 for my veg space in which I use three QB288 boards on an HLG240. Currently it’s at 130w and I have it 3ft or so above the seedlings, just to give you some perspective.

Ah I thought it was too far away, thanks mate, I can certainly get further away, I thought that because the seedling was stretching it was because it was too far away from the light, hopefully moving it will help this.

If your light is non dimmable and is outputting 135w all the time then yeah, 18 would be too close. Seedlings can also stretch and get lanky due to heat stress like lettuce does, which you may have been experiencing with the light so close. Go to 3 feet and if you still get stretching bring it down to 2 feet. Also are the walls of your cabinet reflective at all?

Yes, all walls floor and ceiling have mylar, The light is 3 foot away from seedings now, I will see what condition seedling is tomorrow afternoon, if no change I will move light to withing 2 foot

Nice, give it a shot and see how she reacts. I always have this saying for seedlings “better a lil stretch than a lot of stress” it’s worked so far.

I’d run 2 sf2000’s. Not into diy’s I tend to F stuff up lol
