Need a quick lighting tip.

I'm starting my first grow soon, and I'm wondering if this light will be okay for 3 auto plants. I know I read that HPS are better, but I'm in a smaller place to do this and am concerned about heat.

Or do I need to go with this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004YXDHX6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2WRS4X4C0GMOQ

Remember - my first grow - not a lot of money to spend on fantastic equipment.

Oh the ipower!
Why people tend to think they'll get the same quality of light from cheap shitty made systems I don't know.
You actually get what you pay for and I personally do not skimp on lighting.

I ended up getting this instead http://www.ebay.com/itm/180877784621?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&var=480131408512&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I also bought a tent to have more space and the reflective lighting.
Don't like growers skimping on lighting but it's probably your best bet @ $100 vs the POS led panels^^^ you listed...........don't expect quality or longevity though, also would check the shielding with an am radio to be safe.

Get a couple of grows out of it IF it lasts and upgrade to real gear

Well I agree you get what you pay for but if this is what is in your budget don't listen to the haters. My first hid was an ipower 400w combo just like this & got several harvests without issue- I have bought junk lights in the past that were much lower quality than this & have since upgraded to thunder ballast/ hood that came with a better factory warrantee. There are superior products much better than ipower offers but for the price this set will get you growing.

Thank you so much for that.

I try to take things said like that with a pinch of salt. I'm growing for myself and I'm not selling it. So I just don't see it as financially beneficial at the moment to drop a few hundo on a light.

I don't want to be cocky, but as a first time grower I think I have a decent set up. I bought a grow tent, nice fans, good pots and soil, nutrients, etc. I'm not using a closet or anything like that. I want to do it right.

The light came in awhile ago, my northern lights are growing and it's a nice 75-80 degrees in the tent with fans blowing, and two out of 5 have sprouted out of the dirt (planted 2.5 days ago.)

Well spoken, you are no worse off than some of the CFL grows on here. With that being said you could spend a little extra on adding some cfl's for some supplemental light. Keep us posted. Keep doing research.
