Need a hand here, leaf blades curling upward/inward check the pics please!

Hi all,

After re potting my plants in order to add rice hulls as the previous soil mix was very dense, my plants leaves started to curl upward/inward. This condition was present before re potting but not as bad as it had turned over the past week. The new soil mix is draining a lot as my plants had needed to be watered every couple of days.

Watered on Jan 16 after re potting.

Watered again on Jan 18, soild as dry after sticking my finger at least 3 inches. Changed light cycle to 12/12.

Watered again on Jan 20 adding a 25% solution of 20.20.20 with micronutrients, I also added about 1/8 teaspoon of trichoderma to the soil before watering.

I have not watered since as the soild seems wet but not overwet.

When I touch the curling leaves they seem very dry to the touch, crispy instead of soft.

My research and the conditions of the soil pointed towards under watering and/or heat stress and the leaves discoloration pointed towards K and Mg deficiency...

At this point I am only using a 90W LED as I have turned off the two 40W CFL as they made the room temperature increase therefore forcing me to use the AC more often and resulting in a high electricity bill.

Temperature goes from 73F to 82F at different stages of the day and RH varies from 50% to 65%.

I should also mention that I put my plants into 12/12 two days after re potting on Jan 18 due to the fact that I need to have them out of the house within a month, so I thought I might as well try to "force flowering" and see how it goes.

I have also posted a pic to show how the soil looked like after adding the rice hulls.

All of your advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Too much too too quickly is my 1st choice. A lot of changes in a very short period of time. Transplant, change of medium, changing the light cycle and feeding. She was ill before the transplant as well. She needs time to adjust my friend. Why is there such a need to have her done in 4 weeks? Which is prolly not gonna happen I am sorry to say.

Yes, after 5 days of 12/12 I figured I am going to need more time to finish... I am just paranoid as I ordered over 25 seeds from Attitude and they usually arrive within a month of ordering so I did not want to have anything at home around the dates the beans would be arriving, just in case man...

Thanks for posting...

The worst thing that is going to happen with the seed order is instead of seeds you will get a form letter from customs saying it was confiscated as contraband. To my knowledge no one was ever arrested as a result of customs alerting authorities.

Relax. Take a deep breath. Give them time to recoup from one stressor before you throw another one at them. Recovery takes a bit more time than overnight.

This is not rocket science. You are growing a plant. Stop stressing out over everything or you'll end up loving that plant to death. First, just leave things as they are and watch the plants. Give them a few days or a week to recover from all the chaos. Just water them. When you water, water them thoroughly until you get run off and thyen let them dry out well before you water again.
Second, I had to wait until I stopped laughing my ass off (I am officially ass-less!!) before I could respond to this. The lights you are using will use less power than making toast!!! There is no way that a 90 watt LED and 2 CFLs will affect the room temp in any significant way! Go through some of these journals and photo albums to see some real power hungry grows!!!
Just wait a week or so, let them recoup, then start feeding again at your 1/4 strength. Slowly build that up to about 1/2 strength. Watering is very important. You have to let those roots to dry out before you water again.
Listen to bkbbudz, he's giving you good advise!

It's your soil or nutes what type or brand you using?
The 20-20-20 nutes sound like Miracle Gro nutes?
Can´t get miracle grow around here, this is what I used,

http://www.evergreencr.com/informacion_producto_in.php?id=3

These are organic products and my soil is a mix of EWC, seabird guano and organic matter,

The universal potting soil is what I call seabird guano, as it contains that but it is basically a potting soil, these two mixed with rice hulls and another product for which I could not find the label, which is what I call organic matter, it is an organic fertilizer.

Thanks for your input man!

Cheers!

Hi Jack,

I am glad you could laugh and sorry about your ass LOL but it does get kinda of hot when having all three lights on since my plants are inside of a plywood box with doors and then inside of my room´s closet. It is summer around here and temperatures inside the box can get to 86F to 90F with all three lights on, like I said. Here are some pics of my cabinet.

Hi BK,

Here you can get up to 15 years if caught with a seed that has germinating potential but probably they will not pursue a case against me for this who knows, I just don´t want to give them reasons to come raid my house...

Thanks man!

looks good ball! leafs curl up like that when they are trying to hold in moisture . perhaps your humidity was not high enough. the last pics of your cab look real good. are the plants straitened out? at first i thought they were a bit small to flower but looking at your cab I can see you don't have much space to work with. so I take it rice hulls are working for you then?

Yes my cab is small, at first I thought to make two cabs, one on top of the other and grow a bunch of small plants in two separate cabs but I think I rather get rid of the cab and just grow larger plants inside the closet... I am experimenting. The reason for originally using the cab was to contain smell and light leakage. Rice hulls are just fine, thanks for that tip.

Cheers!
