lol why exactly would it be dangerous my friend, its simple-a 12g wire is rated for up to 20a no problem 1600w/120v=13.3a not even exceeding 75% of the wire/breakers capacity. is this math wrong im pretty sure i have been doing these kind of calcs for close to ten years now lol, to each his own i agree but the only reason i would want to run a sub panel anywhere would be instant access to 240v power for my ballasts (which he just said his ballasts dont run) so thats out of the question like i said waste of time and money but its cool i buy allot of stupid shit too
