hello everyone! im obviously new here and i have come with a few questions.

let me just start off by saying that im gathering much useful information before starting because i dont want to go into growing "blind" as they say. i would like the best care possible for my plants, and to do so im here to learn. theres just a few little areas that are still grey to me.

ill be growing indoors, my grow room is going to be 4'x4'x7'. ill be using a 400w HPS to grow 4 plants at once. my questions, which im sure have been asked many times before so ill apologize in advance for that. ive looked and looked and i cant seem to find the certain info that i need. sorry guys.

1. what type of soil or soiless mix should i use? im looking to having total control. and if the soiless mix, when do i know to administer the advanced nutrients?

2. how much advanced nutrients should my plants be fed and how often?

3. when do i need to feed them micronutrients if any at all?

ive downloaded jorge cervante's grow bible as well as his ultimate grow dvd. if i remember right he mentioned that after the plant has its first set of true leaves, its ok to give nutrients. ive seen alot of different answers regarding this issue. thus, my confusion. any help or advice would be much appreciated. thank you in advance.

1. what type of soil or soiless mix should i use? im looking to having total control. and if the soiless mix, when do i know to administer the advanced nutrients? for total control you have to go for either coco which gives you about 90% or rockwool which would be about 99%. both bring the disadvantage of being quite unforgiving, so you have to double check everything before you do anything.

2. how much advanced nutrients should my plants be fed and how often? for that, get a feeding plan which is specifically for your medium and fertilizer you gone use. you get those from the bigger names on their web pages, just check for it.

3. when do i need to feed them micronutrients if any at all? with normal weed fertilizers you won't need that until some plant show deficiencies. that is do to the fact that some strains have different needs then other. until that don't worry, and don't stock pill on the stuff if you don't need it!

personally i won't use fertilizers on a plant till all nutes in the ground are about to be used up, and that is after 3 to 4 weeks with normal soil mixes. on the other hand this goes only for soil, if you use coco fibers as Jorge does you will nutes within a week of sprucing, with rockwool even right away. so it really depends on the medium you gone use.
