I was looking at the CFL bulbs at walmart and came across a 6 bulb pack in a red box. They are not in a plastic container but a box, and are only $13 for 6. I cant find the kelvin # anywhere on the box and was wondering if anyone has come across these. Thanks

usually if you open the box the bulb itself has the k rating printed on the ballast. did you notice it said cool or warm? - warm is red and cool is blue.

Do they say "CFL 27 watt = 100 watt bulb"
I purchased 3 boxes yesterday. Excellent buy!
Wish they had the CFL 65 watt ones.............

those are 2700k. when they say "general purpose" they are usually 2700k unless otherwise indicated on the box.

that box is warm white i believe. most of the packaging has green for warm white and blue for cool or daylight spectrum

Dude, that's a green box which is 2700K, you want the box like that with the blue on it for 6500K (daylight)

I buy the exact same bulbs.

Get a sharpie marker and write their K rating on the ballast so you know what is what from looking at them. All mine are marked, 27 or 65.
