Near harvest time, fan leaves dying (Oregon outdoor grow)

Hello,

This is a Northern Lights x Train Wreck hybrid - Northern Wreck. I'll say rookie mistake I've not counted weeks really.. I got this as an 18" clone at the start of August.

I'm hopefully competing my first outdoor grow soon. But over the last perhaps two weeks my biggest fan leaves and some of the smaller ones have turned purple, then yellow, and then curled and dried at the tips. To some degree I think this is natural, longer cool nights hitting 50°, the sun is barely as strong... Like all the other leaves in nature, they're starting to change color and break down.

But it seems like none of my trichromes are getting amber yet. From looking at them with a loupe they seem like they're milky though.

I've not done any fertilizer the entire grow. Just some stoney 420 soil amended with calcined clay and pumice rock. Water maybe 1 gallon every two days. At peak growth it was drinking a gallon a day. Cutting back a bit more now though as it's less hot it doesn't dry out as fast.

At this point I keep it in my dark shed at night where it isn't as cold at night. And take it outside for the days. But we're getting less and less sun.. Rainier now...

Do I just wait another week or two? Should i worry about the big leaves seeming to go? Do I need to get some lights on it, etc? Some fertilizer before a flush a week from now? Etc. Any advice or opinions very welcome!!

Thanks in advance

Looks like its naturally running the course of its life, the trees are turning here too. Personally I would just give it water now, watch triches, selective harvest the colas and tops that look farthest along. But thats just me...lol. Looking very good from my perspective, congrats

Looking good, I think she could use a little bit of fert by now though, especially by the looks of that smallish container. Ive added a few handfulls of chicken poop around my girl, in my garden bed, 2 times during flower, both when she started to yellow a bit. Seemed to do the trick. Might do one more scoop today before harvest in a week or two.

Looks pretty good overall though.

Thank you everyone for all the great advice/follow-up. I did one watering about a week ago now with a vegan "Down to Earth" all purpose vegan 4-6-2 fert.. Mixed into a gallon+ of water... It is a dry fert. not liquid, so not sure if that affects things at all.

Beyond that I'm really just not seeing any amber trichromes with my loupe. Leaves are definitely purpling and eventually drying/dying. I'm keeping it in a workshop 50°+ at night. But our sun is so weak down and it's cooler out. The buds do seem to have swelled a bit actually and are looking very bright, like neon green. Hairs still a bit orange but not entirely. And bud leaves have very minor purple fringing. Buds and leaves near center of plant or further below tip buds look decent/bright green.

I've read this strain is normally ready for harvest by early October. Seems like mine needs another week or two?? At this point is just moving it outside when sunny, dark/not too cold at night, will the flowers keep doing their thing? Or am I kind of running up against lack of sunlight and the plant can do less and less work to get it over the finish line. Thanks for any advice!!

The leaves are doing it's natural thing, nothing to worry about.....but when you bring them in....is any light hitting them???? the cool temps are not a problem until the temps are under 50 degrees during the day, but rain is the problem around here and it looks like you still got 3 weeks to go...thats a problem this late with the rain forecast...next time either plant them in the ground or use a larger pot...best of luck to ya....nice looking plants.

Thanks for responding, super appreciate it. Wow, three weeks eh?? That's crazy.. As long as I follow my routine and keep rain off it, will the buds continue to mature and get ready, even with weak sun? Regarding in a bigger pot or the ground, can you explain the bearing that has on flower schedule/growth? This was a clone about 16" high August 1st. That might be my problem more than anything..

About light... Generally speaking, it's quite dark in there, except if I go in maybe to get some tools or a beer from my beer fridge.. But I try to do that earlier in the evening. It's dark in there from at least 10pm-7am.. I could put some paper over the workshop window to help block any errant light but it got to flower like this with approximately the same situation.

Yes, the buds will continue to mature...untill the temps get below 50 during the day time...even with the weak sun...this is there nature....the rain and fog can fuck this shit up though....if you can get to with in one week of harvest....your OK!

I had to start chopping 10 days early due to the forecast of rain, but I have only been harvesting the ripest buds so far....in a few days I gotta do the rest......and I got a shit lode...more than I expected

Dirtpower/other.. Sorry if I'm seeming neurotic about this, but now the leaves around the top bud are dying including even the close in ones are purpling & curling at the edges. I'm not seeing amber trichromes but the buds are looking sticky as can be. Really wondering if I need to harvest? Forecast is rainy mostly ahead so I'm not sure how much sun I can give it. Temps not getting above the 60s.. Think it might be getting too cold at night even in the workshop that has a fridge putting heat off periodically.

Advice at this point? Cheers

Whats your question? You can take it, its your plant. On my indoor plants, i took the main colas of one plant every other day for 8 days, put the rest back under the lights. that worked excellent.

Well my question was in the previous post, but thank you doobie57z for responding. This is an outdoor potted plant, doesn't have any amber trichromes yet, and is having leaves turn purple and dry up and fall off. I don't have lights to put it under and the daylight here in Oregon is pretty weak now, a lot more rainy (so keeping it protected in a workshop at night/rainy days). Should I just harvest it now or will waiting another week or two be OK? I don't want the buds to die like the leaves! It's a trainwreck X northern lights hybrid. Started following around September 1-8th more or less.

Take the top cola. Now. You have a plan for drying and curing? Take it now. Report back when you have completed this directive.

Sort of have a plan. Was going to flush with a few rounds of water, wait a few days, then cut and hang in laundry room (it's warmer in there than out in the shed). After it dries a bit, into some pyrex glass containers that can vent moisture.

When you say to harvest the top cola, how do you know it's ready, not really any Amber trichromes...

Today the plant will be in the sun. But I could harvest Thursday.

Don't flush just use water as a normal feeding. The plant looks good to me.
