Im going to be picking up a natural gas generator thats 7kw and i was wondering is there a way to hook it up to the house without having to let the electric company know to generate electricity to the whole house?

why hook it to the whole house? why not get a gen that's just big enough for your grow? the electric company cannot know that you have it nor do they have a right to forbid you from generating your electricity but it dont make sense to light your whole house with it. that said, how many watts is you rgrow? it has to be huge for a gen set to be needed

Please please please get a qualified electrician to help you so your house don't end up burned down and on the 10 o'clock news with the police chief being interviewed in front of the smoking hulk of what used to be your house talking about what an awful thing these grow ops are.

Answer is sure, just have the electrician wire up your lights to the generator without touching the rest of the house's wiring. Specify 220 if possible.

Sorry man but if you are asking that question you are doing it wrong. Getting extra co2 that way is not worth the effort or risk.

im not running the whole house on it. im trying to use it while the lights are in use so the electricity bill does spike. and as a back up if lights go out. i know u can do it. alot of houses have back up generators. its just ive been told you can plug it into your 210 and turn your meter backward when needed. but that didnt sound right to me.
