Nanners

I'm in week 7 of flower and when I was inspecting my plant I noticed 2 immature nanners sticking out of the very top of my main cola. Temps have been consistently around 60-75F, humidity is kept around 45-55%, soil grow, she isn't sick in any way that i know of, not overwatered, I came home one day to see her wilting SLIGHTLY due to being thirsty but it wasn't bad at all, I could just tell she was thirsty, no light leaks that I know of, im real anal and vigilant about that shit, wouldn't think it's my lights as im working with a bunch of clamp lights and a cheap Walmart grow light fixture. I plucked them off. Was this the right move? Do you think more will come back. I raised my light a little and im gonna be more attentive to her environment

My experience once manners are found it’s very likely more will appear but sometimes they won’t. Just be vigilant everyday. It don’t take them no time to pop up and open up

Did you get any pics of the nanners?
No unfortunately I didn't but im almost positive they were nanners, they were a yellow green color and didn't have any pistils coming out and also there were no trichomes on them. Here's a picture of the spot where I found them. Maybe you can see something I can't. I notice with my flash, I can see some amber trichomes shining. Is this normal? Im only 7 weeks in

It actually takes a while. I've grown males for the pollen. Just gotta keep your eyes open.

I've had the odd nanner pop up late in flower. My current tent has one plant with that issue. Since end of week 7ish I noticed a nanner, so I started pulling the plant out daily to inspect for any more.

Am finding a couple every other day, but this plant will probably yield be 6oz so there's quite a bit to inspect.

I've just chalked it up to genetics in this case. Haven't had to battle high temps, no issues with humidity, watering has been consistent etc.

Damn. I don't know what caused this as I've been on top of everything, or so I thought. Perhaps just genetics and im blaming myself for nothing. She was bag seed after all

It’s up to you. Personally I usually just keep an eye and pluck em as I find em. If it gets outta control I’ll go ahead and cut it.

Keep your eyes out for more.

Should I harvest her early to try to avoid my bud getting pollinated?
No keep your eyes open. It takes time for them to open and even longer to make seeds.

I'll wait a while longer and just inspect get daily. Is it normal for the trichomes to turn amber in week 7? This is my first grow and im still not quite sure the timeline of that stuff

I'll wait few more weeks. I only found 2 and they were very small and only on one bud. Is that how they usually start before an "infestation" occurs?

There won't be an "infestation" your plant isn't throwing nanners due to sickness, rather because it wants to ensure it's genetic survival.

If the plant is small enough you should be able to inspect daily, because as darkweb says they take time to mature enough to pop and spread pollen.. Chances are, you'll find them way before they're mature if your plant is not so large you can't inspect.

The plant is only around 2 feet tall and i can very easily see each bud. I'll just inspect her daily until harvest time and hope no more show up

Honestly a seed here and there isn't bad but it's when pollen goes everywhere and you get seeds everywhere. I save pollen and use a makeup brush to "paint" a few buds with pollen. A little blue tape flag to mark the branch. And in a few weeks you have seeds. Usually just on those sites. But you have to be super careful.....like turn off fans and don't breathe lol

See that's what I'm wanting to avoid lol I don't want anything getting pollinated, it's my first grow and I'm wanting to grow some seedless smoke. Im guessing the nanners mature similar to pollen sacs on a male plant? They aren't capable of releasing pollen when they're still young right? It has to mature?
